“The food was decent, and the chips were white corn, not flour. Salsa was thickly based more like Campbell's soup, and I couldn't detect the cilantro flavor at all. I would have also liked more cheese sauce over the chimichanga. That said , the Dinner portion was huge , the chimichanga wide not long with a nicely marinated shredded chicken, and the rice was good, not dry or underflavored like so many. Though there were only 3 tables filled, my server 1 of 2 didn't really check on my drink or the food and was held up from delivering my dessert as he was in conversation with a patron at the bar. Oh, and I learned that I don't care for chocolate on my flan , but loads of great tasting whip cream abounded.”
“First time trying Daylight Donuts and was pleasantly surprised. They were fresh and very flavorful - both the donuts and apple fritter. Service was excellent. It's probably a good thing that this place is not closer to my house or I'd be tempted to grab a few donuts from here every day.”
“I enjoy coming to this particular Walmart location and getting everything that I need. Everything is always organized and the pickup is always speedy. I do turn the substitutions off because sometimes they can be a bit off. However, I always get my items. I have also tried delivery with this location and I get my items in a timely manner and my delivery is always correct. This location is always busy. But, I always find what I needed and everything is priced correctly. I mainly go through self checkout because it is always open and I quickly am able to get in and out. I go there a lot in the morning because it is usually well stocked and if I don't go through self checkout, I don't have a long wait. Plus, they have everything that you need and for great bargains. I usually come out with more than I need. I highly recommend utilizing this location.”
“I love Milo’s, this one specifically. I’ve been going there my whole life and always have a good experience, food is always good and hot, the staff is always friendly and willing to help.”
“I order from here all the time. Me and my husband love this place. The staff is always friendly .The food is always good and fresh. they give good portions for the price. They do have long wait times if you order upon arrival. I call in my order to make the process quickerParking: Small parking lot unfortunately”
“Food good service excellent gets no better Milkshakes fantasy can't say enough about them go no farther experience loved by me and my family and friends . Mr. P.”
“The service was great but it's been a while since I ate at Captain D's when did they stop putting the tartar sauce in the dining area? Also when did they stop giving drinks with the meals?”
“The manager there is great. But the guy that was in there the last couple days is a clown. Im a door dash driver, I walked in to get an order, which I was informed immediately was "coming out". The customer in front of me (sweet lady, had 52 hungry people waiting for her) had a large order and required 3 trips to her car. I offered to help, so between myself, sweet lady, and the clown, we got it in one. It was raining pretty hard. The clown and I came back in, he proceeds to sticking stickers on boxes, and standing around... Another 15 mins goes by... He hasnt even gone back to put my order in the boxes. Finally, I ask, "my order out yet?"... I swear, he looked me in the eye and casually says "yeah, I was just getting these other boxes ready.... " I looked around, nobody else is there to get an order, so I told him to get my order ready, I had to go. He says "oh? U got alot of orders?".... I waited a total of 46 mins for an order i was told was ready when i walked in. Now the manager I spoke of at the beginning happened to not be there for this... I hope she didnt quit, bc that store apparently doesn't operate without her. When shes there, ALONE, she makes sure that store flows smooth.”
“friendly service and food hot and on timeVegetarian options: very good veggiesParking: just added more parking spaceKid-friendliness: crew was friendly to my 2 sons and sang happy birthday to my youngest”
“Very good service, the mussels and fries were delicious, the lemon tart wasn't the best, and the soup was a bit too salty too, but other than that it was a good experience.”
“Wow. Wow. Wow. Blown away. I’m a huge fan of “fine, French cuisine” and this was certainly worth the 90 min drive to get to. Beautiful and simple, yet service and food are well planned and very intentional. Will absolutely be back, this place DID NOT MISS! Would give 6* if I could.”
“Jordan was our server and she was so friendly, very knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was amazing! You can't go wrong with anything you order. Get the dessert! Don't pass it up. It's divine! The Sangria was so tasty and not overly sweet!”
“This is one of our favorite places. Everyone in this restaurant from the waitstaff to the management is personable and express such kindness to each guest. The food is a blend of haute cuisine and comfort classics that leave you satisfied but also excite the palette. In addition this is a gem for vegetarian guests or those with food sensitivities. Treat yourself with this immersive dinning experience right in the heart of Birmingham.”
“I recently went to Helen's and it left me thoroughly impressed and actually was looking forward to writing this review. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by an amazing staff whose warmth and hospitality set the tone for the evening. One of the standout features of Helen's is its consistency in delivering great food. The steaks, in particular, are among the best I've had in Birmingham, perfectly cooked to my liking and bursting with flavor. I have been here for date night aswell as gathering with a large group, Helen's ambiance and service ensure a memorable dining experience every time. One dish that stole the show for me was the beef ribs, a succulent and tender delight that showcased the kitchen's mastery of meat. The crawfish garganelli, with its flavorful profile complemented by ricotta salata that really tied the dish together for me.The wine selection at Helen's is commendable, with a range of options to suit every palate. They have a very nice whisky and bourbon selection, which if are into that scene, you know how hard it is for a restaurant to keep a consistent whisky and bourbon list due to the ABC, but that is a different story for a different time. I was impressed with staff's knowledge of wine pairings, enhancing the overall dining experience and elevating each dish to new heights. In essence, Helen's is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in top-notch cuisine accompanied by exceptional service. Whether you're a steak aficionado or seeking culinary delights beyond the ordinary, Helen Restaurant delivers on all fronts, making it a true culinary gem in Birmingham. The only issue I experienced was I was, too caught up to take pictures of the dishes. Don't sleep on Helens!”
“This was our first time and it was absolutely excellent from start to finish! The manager, Brandon, was SO genuinely welcoming and accommodating. Our server, Parker, was flawless and so much fun (request him!). Every dish was perfectly cooked, refined and full of flavor (smoked salmon, fried green tomatoes, fried oysters, rainbow trout, swordfish with andouille, ribeye with truffle fondue). The cocktails and wine all perfect. Will definitely return and want to thank Blueprint for a truly wonderful experience!”
“I love these people, this place, these pastries, PHEW !!! Cannot sing enough praises for them. Highly recommend everything they offer. The danishes, pain au chocolat, and croissants are my faves. If you can’t get to the bakery early enough in the morning, finding their goods at other local stores n cafes is pretty accessible & always a treat.”
“I was alone in Birmingham and decided to pop in here rather than dine at a hotel restaurant. I'm glad I did. While the bar seating was full, they were kind enough to accommodate me on the heated patio. The food was excellent, so much so that I had to splurge on the Genepy sundae. I will have to come back whenever I am in Birmingham again.”
“Great chicken, cooked the way great chicken is supposed to be - fried! The 3-piece 'hot wings' were primo - ?.Drove from Guntersville to experience Hattie B's & it did not disappoint. Will be back . . . . . . . . . . .”
“We had a great experience with our impromptu work dinner with our party of 15. Our server Thomas P. was very accommodating and worked to help our large group have a wonderful time. The flavors of the food were bold and paired well with the amazing drink menu. We loved the daiquiris and the Will You Be My Hurricane drinks were our favorites. But please don’t miss the Guri Guri - so yummy! Located right in the heart of downtown in a walkable area from neighboring hotels. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“Hey there, cocktail connoisseurs! Let's raise a glass to my recent escapade at Adios, where the libations flowed and the vibes were on point. Starting off with the drinks, the Oaxacan Old Fashioned didn't quite hit the mark for me. Lacking that bold Mezcal punch I was craving, it fell a bit on the lighter side. However, the Mexican Firing Squad was a delightful twist on a classic margarita, hitting all the right notes. And let's not forget the Ranch Water - light, refreshing, and a hit with the wife. As for the experience, it was top-notch. The staff were absolute champs, handling our rowdy group with ease and adding to the overall fun factor of the evening. Ambience-wise, think normal lighting with a light-colored interior, but the real star was the impressive ofrenda that added a touch of authenticity to the space. Now, onto the ending thoughts. Here's the deal - Adios keeps things interesting by rotating out their house cocktails regularly. While it's cool to try new concoctions, it's a bit of a bummer if you find your new favorite and it disappears. Nevertheless, with their stellar cocktails and upbeat atmosphere, I'll definitely be making a return trip. Cheers to that!”
“Take your tastebuds on a magical journey that will delight and thrill. This is as authentic as it gets for Greek cuisine in Alabama. There is most definitely truth in advertising as everything was indeed tasty. Since I couldn’t decide on what to order I instinctively went for a whole assortment of different flavor profiles. The baked chicken is the tell , if you go to a Greek restaurant and they don’t have a good baked chicken… walk out. This should be a staple on every single Greek menu. Seemingly innocuous but it is the cannery in the coal mine so to speak for what you can expect for the rest of the meal. It outperformed even my high expectations. Served with a grilled lemon to squeeze over the top it was perfectly salted and not over or under cooked. Our sides were the Greek fries (which were crispy in all the right ways, and a punch of saltiness from the cheese) I asked for some taziki sauce for the chicken but dipped my fries on it as well. Honestly I didn’t even dip the chicken in it because it tasted so good on its own I didn’t have to. I also feasted upon the spinach rice and tabouleh and both were opposites on the flavor spectrum one with warm savory spices that melted with the tomatoes and rice and the other bursting with fresh herbs and spring vegetables with Frekkah which is a roasted green wheat that adds such a wonderful texture and pleasant yet slightly nutty flavor. The orzo “Mac and cheese” is no ordinary Mac and cheese side, this Greek version of a classic dish had such an amazing mouth feel with some garlic and herb notes that just elevated it to the next level. And I’m going to end where we started which was with the appetizers. I can never get past the spanakopita (which is heavy on the dill just like I like it) But today I added in the garden humus which had fresh limas and asparagus with an array of herbs with a drizzle of olive oil… and that is just the topping, underneath laid a silky smooth hummus that was not grainy or bitter . The fresh pita sent me over the moon… I was in greek heaven. The chicken pita was like having all the freshness of the salads and the spot on roasted chicken all in one…. So you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I have yet to try something I absolutely didn’t love . We were so stuffed that we had to get the desserts to go but my god … if you haven’t been here you are missing out on one of the best restaurants Birmingham has to offer. It’s a hidden gem in plain sight.”
“First of all let say that this is the best corn ever and I have traveled many places.. The welcoming atmosphere and the service was amazing, but the first bite into that corn was crazy I left no kernel behind ?? absolutely delicious and my family and I will be coming back. I 100% ”
“In town visiting and decided to try this place. Glad I did, because from the service, to the food, and atmosphere, it exceeded expectations. Krystal took our orders and although I have no dietary restrictions, my friend was ordering for his wife and was very happy that they were able to accommodate with items being gluten free. Especially on Tuesdays. Will definitely return and visit.Ordered the hot chicken and waffles. You’re able to substitute the wings for tenders. Waffle had flavor by itself and the fresh warm peaches with house made butter complimented each other very well.”
“Truly the greatest cake that’s ever existed. When your best friend is a wedding planner, you get to taste a lot of cake. NOTHING compares to Daughter’s Wedding Cake. Truly, no cake comes close. The Gluten Free Chocolate cups are worth the drive to get in person. I could never love another cake more. Staff is also so sweet, always.”
“This is probably(?) the most upscale Italian restaurant in Birmingham.I ordered shrimp risotto as an appetizer, and for mains I ordered basic pasta and New York strip steak. As you can see, the risotto has a small amount of rice and is very salty, but not to the point of being inedible. The pasta and steak were really delicious. I cooked the steak medium and it was just perfect. Although the quantity was a little small, the quality was acceptable.Oh, that's right, the other customers were dressed up in dresses or suits, but I was the only one dressed casually, which was a bit embarrassing. Please refer to this before your visit.”
“I go here almost once a week because its close to work, and food is always delicious and consistent. This is a quick pasta place, it is not fine dining, so manage your expectations. The owners are very nice and always helpful. If they mess something up they will fix it and go above and beyond for you. Simple pasta dishes with easy to identify ingredients. Open Kitchen, you know what you are getting. Portions are decent size and fresh ingredients. Also try the amazing tea assortment! I'm a big fan!Vegetarian options: everything I get is vegetarianParking: plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: unfortunately, pretty kid friendly lol ; )Wheelchair accessibility: very accessible”
“Great atmosphere and location. They have a great variety of local beers and a full menu which many breweries in town don’t have. Service is always top notch. Definitely a loca spot and one I love going to. Being close to Railroad Park and Barons field is an added bonus.”
“I love being able to walk to get coffee, and living in Avondale, Punch Love is always my go-to. High-quality and expertly brewed, I have always had a great experience and an even greater latte. With my work schedule, my only critique is I wish hours either opened a few minutes earlier or stayed open later into the afternoon, but c'est la vie.”
“Great coffee shop to visit when in the area. Asked the cashier/barista what she recommended and she suggested the caramel latte and it was delicious. Definitely give them a visit if your in the mood for some coffee. Bought a really cute shirt here too!”
“Wish I had stopped by sooner than I did. They've got a nice breezy spot right on the highway, a place to sit down outside, and some big fans to keep you cool. Like concession stand food? Nachos, candy, shaved ice, etc? This is the place for you. They're also SUPER friendly.”
