Don't let the exterior or lack of fancy scare you off. It's a true old fashioned off the beaten path type of place- nothing fancy even by 1985 standards... but the food was pretty dang good.
Surprised at the quality of our food. It's a mom and pop behind a gas station. But between the six of us no one was disappointed. Grilled grouper was superb. Boom boom shrimp was great. The blackened fish and shrimp and grits was better than expected. The wait staff was dealing with a trauma, but the food did not lack. All in all if you are out in Fort Morgan, it's a great choice!

we stopped in Behind the Pines for a casual dinner while vacationing in Gulf Shores. We love mom & pop places & Behind the Pines definitely did not disappoint. The fish tacos were to die for, the fish & shrimp sampler basket was great, the local draft beer was thirst quenching & our waiter, Edward (or "E") was so nice & helpful when we asked about things to do around the area! We will definitely be back - probably more than once this vacation!
