Burger Restaurants near Irondale

“First and foremost let me say this wad the first time I have visited Hamburger Heaven and I knew nothing about the place except it was close to another place I was meeting some friends and I needed to grab a bite to eat. So my expectations were nonexistent going into the place.

The atmosphere was what one would expect from burger place where you were grabbing a quick meal to hold you over to dinner.

The dinning room was a serious no frill kind of place. Nothing wrong with that, it's just not the kind of place you would take a date to impress.

Now with THAT being said, I was extremely impressed with their food. The burger I had tasted very fresh and made exactly as I ordered. The bun was not soggy and none of the condiments were overwhelming but I got a great balance of flavors with each bite.

The fries were the old style crinkle cut and you could actually taste them. They were NOT the blan fries that most of the big chain places try to pass off on everyone claiming to be fries. Definitely NOT the golden arches!

As for the service. I give 5 Stars even though they couldn't accept credit cards at the time. Luckily I happened to have cash so it wasn't an issue but I don't normally carry more than a couple dollars on me.

The people working there were friendly and the dinning room was cool and the floor was clean. I didn't see any dirty tables and the trash can that I used was completely empty.

I am curious now if the other Hamburger Heaven in Birmingham are run as well as this one.

If you are ever in the area and feel like having a great burger and/or fries... this is your place.

Parking: The parking lot looks freshly sealed and fresh stripes so it's easy to see were and how to park.

The lot was easy to get in and out of too.

Wheelchair accessibility: It looked pretty easy to get in and out of. There was not automatic doors.“

“We love Marty’s GM SO much! We moved away from the area years ago but still try to plan our trips to Birmingham around a trip to Marty’s! We always get the Chicken Bacon Ranch Egg Rolls, Goat Popper Burger, and French Fries. And then depending on what they have in the frozen machine, a frozen margarita or a bushwacker. Everything is always perfectly cooked and delicious! Honestly , it’s wild how consistent the food has been over the years. Absolutely fantastic every time we go.“

“Out of all the Burger King I’ve ever had the pleasure of doing business with I must say the one here located in Irondale at 7757 Crestwood Blvd. has completely blown me away and will now be my new favorite. “Cute little place if you are hungry for a juicy burger and fries, but a bit pricey and really small in case it is raining, or you want to dine in they have very limited seating inside. Staff was polite and efficient. Burger was juicy and a bit greasy on the outside but what's a burger without grease? I would stop in again if I was in the area at lunchtime, but the parking is a nightmare in this plaza to begin with and a nightmare to get in and out of so good luck with that situation but if you can get in and find a place to park try the burger and fries. Oh, it looks like they only have burgers, dogs and fries. You will spend $20 for a quick lunch but worth a try at least once.“

“We came to birmingham to children's south for a doctors visit and was looking for a place to eat . We pulled up our map to see food locations and found baha burgers . Hands down the best burger we have ever had . I had the baha burger and my wife had the baby burger both with onion rings . Please bring a baha to auburn AL , we definitely need a burger place like this and also best service also . Thank you for serving great burgers“

“Went to this restaurant on a Saturday the place was pretty busy but we were able to order and then sit at our table. The staff was very friendly and the service was great.we both ordered a k-dog which were excellent 👌🏾 and not normal menu items so we got lucky to catch them serving them today. The joyland burger deluxe was great as well, the patty was seasoned very well and had good flavor! I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone if you like burgers! We will definitely be back!!!“

“They are a small business food truck that demonstrates nothing but exemplary customer service. My husband went by while they were in Helena for their to die for peach crumble. They were out of the dessert but they offered to make half a pan for us and said they will have it ready the next day at their next location at Shelby Baptist. I went by to pick it up and not only did they have it ready but they brought it out to me at my car. They are such nice people and I’m very happy at the customer service they display. “The Homewood location is fantastic. Food was great, quick service, extremely clean and tidy! I had only ever been to Irondale, but we were in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. The customer service was top notch!“

“This past Saturday, I treated myself to a me date a day dedicated entirely to myself. After indulging in a relaxing one-hour massage, I found myself absolutely starving. Wanting to try something new, I continued my exploration of Homewood’s restaurant scene and landed on The Battery. I met my aunt there for lunch, and as soon as we arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. The place was packed inside and out which is usually a great sign. After about a 15 minute wait, we were seated. The interior had a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly kind, answered all of my questions, and I never once had to ask for a refill. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was impressively quick, and every dish arrived hot. Appetizers Buffalo Wings – The wings were well-sauced and smoked to perfection, with the meat falling off the bone effortlessly. However, the biggest letdown was the lack of seasoning. While the smoky flavor was great, the wings themselves needed more depth. 7.9/10 (With proper seasoning, this would easily be in the high 8s or even a 9). Queso & Chips – The chips were fresh, crunchy, and unseasoned but still did the job. The queso had potential, but it lacked the bold flavors needed to truly stand out. It wasn’t bad, but it could have been much better. 6/10 Entrées & Sides Wedge Salad – The salad itself was solid, but the bacon was a miss. It had an overpowering liquid smoke taste, leaving a strange aftertaste and smell. 7/10 Fries – These were outstanding hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. I also appreciated the variety of cuts and shapes. 8.5/10 Smash Burger – A well-executed smash burger with that signature crispy edge and juicy interior. However, the meat itself wasn’t seasoned, which held it back from being exceptional. 8/10 Final Thoughts Overall, The Battery was a great experience, and I’d happily return. The biggest downside was the lack of seasoning across multiple dishes. If they improved that, their food would easily score even higher. That said, I still highly recommend trying this place. Final Rating: 8/10 Service: 10/10 – Absolutely fantastic staff! Would I go back? Without a doubt.“

“The absolute best!! We love Mr. West’s, can’t count how many times we’ve been since they opened! The food is always fresh and delicious, and comes so quickly! We have tried just about everything on the menu, and I’d recommend it all. My personal favorites are the shrimp tempura rice bowl, the spicy garlic noodles, the nachos, and the dumplings. You truly can’t go wrong!“

Ms Dawson greets you from behind a wall and comes around to take your order. Plan to be patient as she cooks it fresh and is a solo operator. The burger was well worth the wait. Definitely give it a shot for lunch.. just don't be in a hurry.“

“I love coming to Slutty Vegan. I used to go to the ones in Atlanta (Ralph David and Edgewood), but I've moved to Alabama about 10 months ago. I loved when I realised that they had a shop here in Birmingham.

Their slutty fries is amazing with the spicy agave mustard or hunny mustard. 9/10

Can't go wrong with the fussy hussy if you're looking for the normal toppings that come on a burger. 8/10

When I get a burger from here, though, I like the one night stand because I like the v. bacon. 9/10

The boujee heaux is their fried cauliflower wings. I've only ever tried the 10pc garlic parm w. fries, but it's amazing. 9/10

I've had the banana pudding before. I don't get it anymore, but it's still delicious. I like my banana pudding a little more solidified, whether it is the breading/crumbles, or actual bananas. This does mimic a legitimate pudding though. 9/10

The hollywood hooker is a good v. philly. I don't normally eat philly cheesesteaks that often, so it's almost a bit much for me due to the amount of stuff in it, but I can still appreciate the flavour profiles, the necessary toppings to make it a philly, and the ability for Slutty Vegan to make a tasty version of the classic sandwich. 9/10

I've only had the project chik one time, and that was when it first came out. At that time, it was a limited time item. I didn't like this sandwich as much, but that's because it wasn't saucy. I think they've added ranch or mayo, but it wasn't enough, so you can simply get extra ranch/mayo. 6.5/10

The sweet potato pie is delicious. 10/10

The hooker fries are delicious. Arguably the best item on the menu for me. If there's any legitimate critique I have of Slutty Vegan, it's that the buns get soggy really quickly from the burger, so it can feel like eating the toppings and patty with a mushy bun sometimes. So, I mostly get the hooker fries when I visit because there is no bun to worry about, and it gives me the same toppings as the philly cheesesteak, except I don't have to worry about being overwhelmed with everything that's inside of the hoagie and trying to keep everything pieced together. The hooker fries IS the hollywood hooker, just with fries instead of a hoagie. It's pretty much loaded fries, but it has to be some of the best loaded fries I've had. 11/10

I do miss the big dawg though. I love bratwurst, so SV's spin on this was amazing. Add this back to the menu and I'd be back probably two to three times a week continuously.“

“I picked up my take out order. I told the staff I needed the strawberry shake. I was told a couple minutes later it was in the bag. I checked and I could see the top of the cup so I left. Got home and it was vanilla. My husband ordered the hot ones burger and there was a quarter size of sauce in the middle of the top bun. His burger was basically dry. My bacon burger was cooked too long, part of it was not edible because it was hard as a rock. This was my first time coming here and I don't plan on returning.“

“The burger was delicious. Incredibly good. However, it took 50 minutes to get it. Once we got it, the fries were lukewarm, as if they'd been sitting there. Hubby was told they tend to get slammed on Monday's due to lack of staff. And Homewood schools were having a jazz concert. So try on a day other than Monday. And maybe specify fresh fries. But, do try it. Patty's are handmade. Fresh beef. Nice large burger. Prices a little steep. Cheeseburger was $10,99 and basket of fries $4.50. I did not get the sauce that comes on the burger. I def recommend. And the venue is hard. There is an app to pre-order was not available on Monday night.“

Our server was super patient with us because we couldn't make up our mind because everything sounded delicious.
