“Rosie’s Mexican Cantina in Florence, Alabama, is a delightful dining experience that I can’t recommend enough. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with decor that is both authentic and impressively detailed, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the shrimp tacos. Each bite was a flavor explosion, with perfectly cooked shrimp nestled in soft tortillas, accompanied by fresh and flavorful toppings. It’s clear that Rosie’s uses high-quality ingredients, and the care they put into each dish is evident. Not to be overlooked, the warm tortilla chips and salsa served as an appetizer set the tone for the meal. The chips were freshly made, and the salsa struck the perfect balance of flavor and spice, leaving me eagerly anticipating the next course. The margaritas at Rosie’s are a must-try. They were expertly mixed, refreshingly tangy, and just strong enough. It’s the kind of drink that complements the meal perfectly, enhancing the dining experience.Rosie’s Mexican Cantina has managed to create an atmosphere that’s as vibrant and satisfying as its food. The attention to detail in the decor, from the colorful art to the thoughtfully arranged seating, adds to the restaurant’s charm and appeal. In conclusion, Rosie’s Mexican Cantina is a must-visit for anyone in Florence looking for authentic, delicious Mexican cuisine. The combination of fantastic food, great drinks, and a captivating atmosphere makes for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend Rosie’s to locals and visitors alike, and I look forward to my next meal there.“
“Hadn't been in awhile, but so glad to be back and to bring friends that are from out of town and had never been. They used to live in Mexico. My only disappointment is that it cost $3.99 for avocado to go on a taco. We did that for 2 and it was 3.99 x2. So $8 for what was less than half an avocado altogether. Maybe 1/2 or 3/4 of an avo. Will probably skip avocado next time. I grew up with avo trees in south Florida, so paying $8 for avo seems outrageous. The margaritas are excellent. We both got watermelon margs and substituted for Herradurra rather than well tequila and they were $10.99 each. A fair price, I reckon?Oh, one other minor disappointment is that we ordered two Herradurra shots towards the end and qet didn't get them. The next time the waiter came back were then told that it was too late according to the bartender since he was closing up, so we paid our check without the shots we wanted for my 40th bday.Everything else was positive. The server was really nice and helpful. We will def be back!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, the best queso according to our kids and all the Jarritos flavors??“
“We ate at Taco Mamas this evening. This was the first time we had been to Taco Mama’s, but it definitely won’t be the last. There were three of us, and we each ordered something different so we could taste each other’s. Between the three of us, we tried ahi tuna tacos, the Sizzler (steak) tacos, and pulled pork tacos. Everything—everything was incredible! The chips and salsa are great; the guacamole is terrific and fresh; the cilantro rice is tasty, but the Mexican corn—this side is my new go-to item! Delicious, the flavors explode in each bite! Whatever you do, make sure you try the Mexican corn! Have I mentioned how good the Mexican corn is?! The service is stellar, and the atmosphere is excellent! Yep, we’ll be back!“
“I was in town from San Diego (Mexican food heaven), so I was glad to find delicious authentic Mexican food so far from home. I had the Supreme Burrito with grilled chicken, which came topped with sour cream, lettuce, tomato, a delicious burrito sauce with rice and beans. Great service, great prices, great portions.“
“Excellent place to eat the best Mexican food, I have a love for them since I worked with them back in '94 and their treatment of the staff by the owner was great, I miss the cheese deep, I hope I visit them soon to relive old memories, blessings!“
“Omg! Best and I do mean best mexican food around! Great prices lots of food and terrific flavors. It was my first time there and I asked our waitress what she recommended and she was so sweet and helpful. I hope when we go back...and we will I hope we get her again. We order 1 order of everything on your fajitas you can possibly think of for 2 people and still had enough left over for another meal. $18.99. What!? Oh side note who knew ? was so good? I'm sure everyone else in the world but dang I'm now hooked. To bad I'm only here for 1 more week. But to EVERYONE reading this....GO THERE. you will not be disappointed. Uh unless you actually think taco bell is mexican food! Lmao ?“
“I didn’t even know this restaurant existed until I moved close by and wanted to find restaurants near me. It’s amazing, I don’t see how I’ve never heard of it before. All of the dishes are full of flavor and even the plain things like a bean burrito somehow taste better than most Mexican restaurants.“
“Very nice atmosphere with plenty of seating and clean interior. Staff was very welcoming, responsive, and polite.Tried the chorizo quesadilla, choriqueso dip, and the birria sopes. All had very fresh ingredients. The tortillas are definitely handmade. Chorizo wasn't as spicy as I would want or expect (none of the smokey heat I'm used to with chorizo dishes). It also made every dish it was in very oily. The queso was pretty good besides that but could definitely be a bit thicker. Sopes was very good. Meat was tender and flavorful. Quesadilla is big enough to last AT LEAST two meals.Overall, great portions for the money but could use a bit more spice and less oil.“
“Still sitting at the table, my first visit. The food was delicious, fresh, fast and hot!! The service was great! Quiet atmosphere, perfect for nice conversation. Over all great friendly place. I'll be back. Prices were normal for post 2020.“
“Came here to visit some friends that perform every Friday night!Had a massive margarita, chips with guac, a shrimp chimichanga and a taco salad! The prices are way more than I would expect for the quality of food you get. The margarita was reasonable given how large it was, but the guac was way too creamy/runny, and the meat on my salad was drenched in queso to the point that I couldn’t taste the chicken.Next time we will order different items but it was an okay spot to watch out friends and hang out!“
“I got a to go order. They were very nice and the food was good.. love there cheese dip.Kid-friendliness: It's a good family restaurant. And it's very kid friendly and has a kids menu.Parking: They need more parking. It's a little crowded when it's busy.“
“Not only great Mexican food but the best service I've had at any of the Mexican restaurants in the area and top the of service we've had at any restaurant period in the area.Jose was incredible and fun and took care of us while we dined. Everything we tried was top notch. And it was cheaper than my usual haunts in Florence. I'll go back for sure!Vegetarian options: There's a good set of vegetarian dishes and they're very tasty. I had veggie combo 3 and it was great.Dietary restrictions: My dairy free fiance ate fine and you can get corn tortillas if you need gluten free. I can't speak about contamination risk.Parking: Parking is plentiful and fine.Kid-friendliness: There's always kid friendly food at these kinds of places like cheese quesadillas and tacos. No different here.Wheelchair accessibility: I would be able to get in and to a table with my chair fine. I have no accessibility concerns here.“
“Today (11/27/23) was a FANTASTIC lunch. The food, Great! Service, Awesome! Price as always, amazing. I use this Taco Bell multiple times a week because they are consistently good but today just blew me away. Y’all at the Florence location are always AWESOME! (: Thank you.“
“This was my first visit here. It had been recommended to me by a friend. The food was delicious! The service was excellent and the price was very good. I will definitely be back!Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian selection on the menu.“
“We eat here regularly, no less than 4-6 times per month. The service and food are always amazing. Consistently. Every single time. No matter how packed and busy they are, everything is always fabulous. Any time we order to pick up, we get plenty of everything we need, chips, salsa, sides; they don’t forget a thing. We have other Mexican restaurants in town and we always go to Casa because we just know it’s the best one around!! ???“
“The food is solid and honestly the customization is a little too out of hand to the point where it is being taken for granted by the local customers. I don't see how the major complaints are up-charges or portioning on kid meals when to even look at queso anywhere is an up-charge (see Krystals w/cheese). Do people really expect endless chips and regular portions of meat for kid meals when the lowest common denominator for edible food (McDonalds) does not give endless fries for a happy meal, let alone extra patties of beef without serious cost increases? Its pretty clear when you go in that the portions are color coded, and expecting extra meat when they already punch cards for kid meals and serve them to people well over 12 years of age is a bit on the silly side. Chipotle doesn’t have four dressings plus four salsas they only have two salsas… of course those are going to be up-charges. This is also the only place in the state that allows for fully custom quesadillas with ten freebie toppings with a final price around ten bucks. Im not even sure how thats allowed or profitable but power to them, you are doing a good job. Pizza places charge per topping, sub shops are $15-$20 for a footlong, and other competitors don't entertain that notion to begin with.“
“Variety of choices for tacos. We got the smoked chicken, fried chicken, and the fried avocado tacos. They were all great. Salsa was pretty good and the cheese dip was terrific. The Mexican street corn was delicious. I'm happy to see something like this place in this area. The waitress we had was very friendly and helpful.Vegetarian options: Several side items, salsa/guac/queso, buffalo cauliflower taco, fried avocado taco, cheese enchiladas, the smoke show burrito (beans instead of meat), cheese quesadilla, and veggie quesadilla“
“Taco Bell is a standard most places that one visits. The Taco Bell in downtown Florence is typical of the chain. The interesting change on my last visit is the inside counter service is now serviced by an order board, you walk up to a tablet and self enter your order. So much for customer service. I did not have a bad experience but, there were several employees in the restaurant with the customer self ordering, and most of the tables were in need of wiping down from previous use. Just FYI“
“Little Mexico (#2 location Killen) is it great Mexican restaurant to eat at. It is similar to many of the other Mexican themed restaurants in the area as La hacienda, casa Mexicana, fiesta Mexicana etc. The taste of the food dishes however is exceptional and somewhat better than their competition. There is however one complaint that I have and that is depending on which server you have you may take different prices for different things. In the beginning it's a lot of overcharging or mistaken orders but in time this has gotten better. There's plenty of room for dining and also for parking. It would be better for handicapped patrons if Little Mexico had a paved parking lot section for handicapped parking. As it is the gravel parking area is not as easy to wheelchair on. The restaurant is handicapped accessible however and once you make it to the concrete porch you've got it made.Little Mexico grill is my favorite Shoals Mexican restaurant compared to the other of its type. It is not Tex-Mex as you have with Rosie's cantina but rather more traditional Mexican flavor. But if you want Mexican dishes and more traditional Mexican dishes then little Mexico is a great choice.Just be careful to check your receipt to make sure you're charged correctly for what you ordered.Parking: The parking lot is mostly gravel which makes it a little difficult if you have a wheelchair but other than that the parking is great and plentiful.“
