“Exactly what you're looking for if you're searching for authentic, down home Southern BBQ. Got the Rib plate with greens and Mac and cheese, added some of the brisket and a side of cornbread. Fellow traveler got the BBQ sandwich plate with slaw on top with fried okra and cabbage. Classic white bread slice is
Greens and cabbage were excellent and vinegar-y, what we were looking for. Cornbread was moist and very good as well.
Brisket, rib tips, and chopped pork were excellently smoked and seasoned. Amazing 😍 The sauce given was a bit sweet for me, but if that's your thing, they got it.
Mac and Cheese was a bit bland but not bad at all. I'd try the baked beans instead
Finally the cobblers caught my eye on the way out and took them to go. Very good, even cold.
All told, great trip and worth the drive. Friendly staff and old school atmosphere. 4.6 out of 5 for sure.“

“The Dixie Pig is my all-time favorite BBQ place, beginning from the early 60's when we visited my grandmother and met long time family friends there. We always looked forward to The Pig...finally got the chance to take my kids there a few years ago so they could experience The Pig, and even got to see my dad's pictures on the wall from his high school glory days! I wish I were closer so I could drop by more often!“
