Best mac salad I've ever had and the katsu chicken was so well breaded and delicious. Also was super quick and the amount of katsu chicken I got for 12 bucks was amazing.“

“We had Brian from PHX Lechon Roasters cater a gathering at our vacation home, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish.

The food was incredible—everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The cebuchon had perfectly crispy skin, and every dish was a hit: pancit bihon, lumpia, adobo chicken, rice, and green bean almondine. Even the leftovers were delicious, which says a lot.

Beyond the food, Brian himself was a pleasure to work with. He was communicative, punctual, and completely professional. He handled everything seamlessly—came in, set up, and cleaned up—making the whole experience easy and stress-free.

What made it even more special was getting to connect with him about his story and his Filipino family—something we deeply appreciated since our family shares that heritage.

“We’ve had a few visits to Ono Hawaiian BBQ, and there are definitely some standout aspects—along with a few things that could be improved.

The biggest highlight is the quality of the meat. It really stands out and feels closer to what you’d expect from a good sit-down restaurant rather than a typical quick-service spot. The flavors are solid, portions are generous, and the proteins are consistently satisfying.

Where it falls short for us is the side dishes. We didn’t fully understand how the sides come with the combo meals, and the combination of cooked cabbage mixed with fresh vegetables and rice just didn’t quite work for us. The texture and balance felt a bit off, and it took away from what is otherwise a strong main dish.

That said, after looking at their website, it seems like they may have updated or expanded their side menu, which is great to see. If that’s the case, we’d definitely be open to giving it another try—because improving the sides would make a big difference.

Overall, it’s a place with great meat quality and solid value, but held back a bit by the sides. With some improvements there, it could easily become a regular go-to spot for us.
