“We went to the whiskey cocktail paired dinner last night. Great food at a reasonable price ($51.99 for a 3 course dinner with drinks). Twenty three people participated, I am surprised that number isn't higher. First course was lobster and roasted corn cake tomato jam, lemon aioli, slaw, balsamic reduction paired with a grilled Peach Tini featuring High West Whiskey. Perfectly paired! Second course was the main course, braised beef short ribs, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, garlic green beans, red wine demi-glace, fried leeks, paired with High West Sour & Unshackled Cabernet Sauvignon float. This was also nicely paired. I wish the garlic mashed potatoes was a regular side on the Black Angus menu....they were that good! The third course was dessert, whiskey caramel apple cheesecake, whipped cream, paired with Cowboy Campfire Coffee featuring High West Whiskey. I ate and drank all, my wife ended up taking the dessert home along with some of her braised beef ( a lot of food!). This was not the first cocktail pairing dinner we have gone to, and it wouldn't be the last! I highly recommend Black Angus. The food is always great and the prices are an exceptional value when compared to other steak restaurants.“
