“Grassroots remains our favorite restaurant in Scottsdale. We rarely stray from our favorites: Spicy Paloma cocktail, pork belly appetizer, and Blackened Redfish and Red Beans and Rice as our entrees. Last night, my husband went crazy and ordered the special: short rib and black bean chili, after our server brought him a sample to try before ordering (nice touch). We're always amazed by how packed Grassroots is, no matter the time of year. And every server there is great!“

“Great sports bar with a good selection of food. There are tons of TVs, making it an excellent place to watch sports. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas offer plenty of space, so it never feels too crowded. Overall, a fun spot to grab a meal, enjoy a drink, and catch the game.“

“Service matters, especially when you are paying a premium for both the food and the overall dining experience.

My wife and I had a mixed experience at The Guest House last night. Unfortunately, it took about 45 minutes for our entrées to arrive, and after sitting at the table for roughly an hour, we were ready to leave without receiving them.

Our server, Jade, spoke with the General Manager, Eddie, and that is where the experience changed. Eddie apologized profusely and acknowledged that while the restaurant was extremely busy, that was no excuse. He emphasized that every customer deserves the same level of service and was adamant that we not leave hungry.

Eddie offered to comp our entire meal and made it clear that he genuinely wanted to make things right and earn our business again.

At a premium restaurant, I believe the quality of service should match the quality and price of the food. There are plenty of dining options available, and great service is a major part of what keeps customers coming back.

Mistakes happen, but how a business responds matters. Eddie took ownership without making excuses, and Jade was attentive and excellent throughout the evening.

He served us a Pinot noir that was super deep and bold, and I honestly thought he poured the wrong varietal. He was so gracious and brought out the bottle (for our examination ) and poured a small sample next to our glass of wine to compare. Indeed it was a big bold Pinot noir by Meiomi Vineyards. The salmon BLT was big enough to split between my wife and I and was absolutely delicious and grilled to perfection. What a surprising dinner venue and great service provided by Jeff. “The food and service was excellent, but the noise was terribly loud so we couldn't talk amongst ourselves at the table despite being seated in the perimeter of the restaurant. We had several in our party that are hearing challenged and despite wearing their hearing devices, they couldn't communicate with the rest of the table or the server.“

I only have 1 “critique” and it’s not even their fault- the option to add a boozy libation to the taco combo is not working on their website, caviar or DoorDash. But that’s a tech issue and not at all reflective of them because even when I called, I think his name was Justin- he tried so hard to help me. But it’s okay cause I will be dining in person to get my drink in the future 😊 Great food and customer service, you can tell they really care about the people!“
