“Came here for my sisters birthday and we were surprised! It doesn’t look like much, but the sushi was amazing! Portions were excellent and prices were great for what you get! The owner was kind and let us try the Japanese soda bottles which were fun and new to us. Just opening the bottles was a good time! Would definitely recommend this food. We had 3 orders of different sushi, a large plate of chicken teriyaki and salmon Kama. All were excellent.“

“My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years now and it is hands down the best sushi we have ever had in Gilbert. It is our favorite restaurant to treat ourselves to, and we’ve gone to no other place where the sushi is consistently this delicious and fresh.
The staff are very kind and will even sometimes add on a free watermelon side dish or roll—they have even taken to putting my boyfriend’s regular hamachi kama order on the grill as soon as he walks in (we feel very at home here).

“It's rare to find a Sushi spot that isnt over the top expensive but amazingly good. Blue Wasabi has mastered this. The sushi is fresh, delicious and no matter your pallet, you WILL find something you enjoy here. They have a very full menu that will satisfy even those not fond of sushi.

The vibe is cool but not intimidating, sit outside if you can, there is plenty of people watching and cool evening ambiance.

The service was great. The food comes out fast and was delicious.

Its an extremely popular spot but there is always plenty of parking. One of my favorite spots. (PS, the Tombstone Roll is awesome)“

“Just found this place yesterday and I’ve already gone twice! From the outside it doesn’t seem like much and the inside has been empty each time we’ve gone, but the workers were patient and so kind and the food is absolutely amazing! Fresh made sushi, tender chicken and steak, delicious fried rice! Even the pork gyoza and cheese wonton appetizers were delicious! I highly recommend!!! “I have been to sushiya a handful of times and I will say that I have not had a sushi place that I enjoy so much in Arizona in terms of taste. I have tried a lot of stuff from their menu (I try to try something different or new everytime) and I am surprised at how they never miss everytime!! I would say Sushiya has some of the freshest fish and tastiest rolls of all time. Even their kitchen selection is delicious.
I definitely recommend trying their specialty rolls if you aren’t a picky eater, my favorites have to be the:
Amberjack roll, Code Blue roll, Jalapeno Roll, Tsunami Roll

If you just like basic sushi, their quality is great so even the basics like salmon nigiri or California rolls are good.

If you don’t like sushi, they have plenty of appetizers and lunch/dinner entrees to choose from!
My favorites are the honey chicken and chicken katsu. Their proportions are pretty big too so it’s really worth it.
I DEFINITELY recommend their honey chicken it’s so addicting. Kind of similar to an orange chicken if you had to compare it to something.

They also have such a great selection of Japanese Sake and beers!

Lastly, I really recommend that you go on a weekday and not on the weekends. It tends to get really busy all at once on weekends and service can get really slow and not as attentive just because it is a small business and there are so many customers.

“This is our absolute favorite for sushi and tepanyaki. Today we went and we forgot it doesn't open until 5 and we were there a little early, and they let us in 15 mins early (which we did not ask them to do), because they didn't want us waiting in the car.

We had our two boys with us and the manager took time to teach our boys how to use chopsticks and she was significantly more successful than we've ever been.

They are incredibly gluten-free friendly. Any sushi roll you want, they'll edit it to make it gluten free. They have gluten free soy sauce and therefore you can get gluten-free fried rice. They also have gluten-free teriyaki sauce.

Today, I originally ordered a salmon nigiri and the manager recommended the trout instead and so I went with it and indeed it was spectacular.

Their service is so fast, friendly, and especially kid/family friendly.

Make reservations early if you want tepanyaki, but otherwise, their regular dining room seating is great!“
