Category: Eclectic Hotel Bar Restaurant. Based on a recommendation from friends, we dined al fresco on a not-too-warm mid-June evening. Seating is available inside at the classy bar or in the well-appointed bar area, but the plentiful outdoor tables and lounge areas have a great view of the mountains, thousands of cacti, surrounding landscape, both planted and wild, and the flames from the fire features at the nearby pools. The experience here was not up to par with the service expected of a luxury establishment. I waited 5 minutes for a menu, the food was unfortunately just average and missing a main ingredient. The service was friendly but not very attentive. If you want average food and a nice relaxing view, this is fine. Just dont come expecting to be called by name or a table crumbed between courses.
Of course the Ritz Carlton brand is known for great hotels, and Dove Mountain doesn't disappoint. Ignite Lounge is so inviting, and the scenery is gorgeous. We dined on a Thursday so were able to sample the delicious sushi offerings. Our main courses were superb as well, including the elevated Sonoran Hotdog, short ribs, fish and chips, and crispy chicken. Service was outstanding as one would expect.
