“The Keg is my favorite restaurant, whether in Oro Valley (Tucson) or when I'm traveling in Canada. I've been to a half dozen outlets. The best part is the staff. Attentive without being overbearing. Only issue is that they don't offer the Prime Rib rare. I can deal with that. Good wine list too. Save room (if you can) for desert.“

“Very good meal and very good service. We each order the #60. I personally was a little disappointed with the quality of the shrimp. But aside from that, the meal was delicious and very filling. 😀“

“Ate there this July-first time. Food good, prices good. Couldn’t hear myself think for the blaring tv overhead. Walls bounce sound aplenty, try application or turn tv off“

“10/10 across the board. SO GLAD I didn't cave and get carbs after a grueling workout. First time, I'll def be back. Everything is so flavorful and fresh. Plus what a beautiful presentation. Reasonably priced for the quality, freshness, and assortment. INCREDIBLE guys. Try it.“

“Their food, service and appreciation of their customers is superb. We visited 9 cities in China and ate at the best of the best. I was looking for a place in Tucson to compare and this is it. Have been back several times.“

“The service is among the best in Tucson, our server is always welcoming, prompt and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and specials, no matter who serves us when we go. The menu is expansive and everything sounds delicious, but I keep coming back for the chef’s creative specials. Wild Garlic truly has a unique and flavorful style when it comes to the beautiful food and the carefully crafted cocktails. To me, the price is more than worth the experience!“

“Hi fans of great traditional Mexican food. I stopped by and had a very flavorful and perfectly prepared Hamburguesa de Queso y Tocino, fries and iced tea. Perla, one of the wonderful waitresses at Taco Giro, is always personable, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu. So come on by for some great authentic Mexican food.“

“We love Kingfisher so much that we had our wedding there 4 years ago. So of course we celebrated our anniversary there last night! New owner Jackie and her wonderful staff saw to it that we had a wonderful meal, including a very special dessert. When Murph and his partner retired we were concerned about how the place would change but our subsequent visits have been wonderful. Highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great food and fabulous service!“

“My daughter chose this restaurant. It was good. The waiter was friendly. I'm glad I tried it once. Will I be back? Probably not. The food was good but nothing exceptional to make me drive 45 minutes.
It's an old building, so carpets and bathrooms need some TLC.
We had the soup of the day. It was a flavorfull tortilla soup with ground beef, We tried the salmon, the Cordon Bleu, spare ribs, and crème brûlée.“

“It’s been 13 years since I last dined at the Flying V Bar & Grill at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, and my recent return was both a nostalgic trip and a delightful rediscovery. The restaurant’s ambiance has only become more spectacular over time—walk through the elegant wooden doors and you’re greeted by a warm, Southwestern-inspired interior, with rustic wooden beams, earth-toned walls, and glowing pendant lights that create an inviting lodge-like feel. Just beyond lies the terraced deck, where you can sip your cocktails while gazing out over a serene lake, the well-manicured golf course, and the breathtaking Catalina Mountains and the Tucson city lights in the distance. It’s a magical setting that showcases the desert’s natural beauty in all its twilight glory.
We began our evening with two signature cocktails: the PICANTE COWBOY and the CROWN JEWEL. The PICANTE COWBOY—featuring Maker’s Mark, Ancho Reyes Verde, ginger agave, lemon, and hellfire bitters—offered a bold, smoky flair underpinned by a subtle peppery kick. The ginger agave added a pleasant sweetness, balancing the tang of the lemon and spice from the bitters perfectly. Meanwhile, the CROWN JEWEL—mixed with Patron Reposado, pineapple turbinado, and orange bitters—delivered a tropical fruitiness that was neither saccharine nor overpowering. Both drinks were impeccably balanced and showcased thoughtful mixology, though at a premium price point. Sipping these alongside a basket of fresh artisan bread and a luxuriously whipped butter “concoction” felt like a quintessential Southwest indulgence.
For dinner, we shared the GRILLED PRAWNS—a dish composed of leche de tigre, cucumber, serrano, coconut milk, cilantro, and confit squash. The flavors dazzled with their bright acidity, creamy coconut undertones, and fresh herbal notes. My only critique was the portion—three sizable prawns made it awkward to share, and we found ourselves playfully vying for the “odd one out.” Moving on to our main course, we opted for the CHILEAN SEABASS. Presented in a pool of walnut consommé with kabocha squash and a dusting of pistachio matcha, the fish was expertly cooked to a buttery, flaky finish, seasoned just enough to enhance without overwhelming its natural richness. Curiously, both dishes arrived with the same slice of undercooked squash. While flavorful in theory, the squash’s firm texture left parts of it inedible. It was a minor misstep but noticeable given the otherwise refined execution of the plates.
Service throughout the evening was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable—servers appeared at just the right moments, kept our glasses filled, and were eager to answer any questions. The romantic atmosphere, panoramic views, and the warm glow from the interior’s rustic décor all contributed to a memorable night.
Though portion sizes were on the modest side—particularly for the price—the overall experience of dining at the Flying V Bar & Grill remains elevated by the quality of the cuisine, the captivating setting, and the attentive service. After 13 years away, I’m delighted to report that Flying V continues to shine as one of Tucson’s most distinctive and enjoyable dining venues.

“Looking for a Chinese in the area and wow we're we pleased. It was about 3:00 and they were still doing quite a bit of takeout, but their dining room was very nice. In The Kung Pao chicken was great with lots of vegetables. The pork fried rice was fantastic and was served as a side when we ordered the "family style". You won't be disappointed“

“Stopped in for lunch, my first time dining at this restaurant. I was in the mood for some kind of veggie & chicken soup and settled on the Sizzling Rice. I asked if the rice is golden crisp and was told yes. The server brought the soup with the rice separate (as it should be) and asked if it was golden enough for me, offering to grill it further if I wanted. I told her it was fine and was delighted with the sizzle as she added the rice it to the soup. Lots of fresh napa cabbage, white chicken, beef & several large shrimp. Fresh and flavorful, not salty, just right. They take pride in their restaurant which is very clean.“
