I'm not a coffee person. Just never acquired a taste for it. However, I found their house made cashew milk latte quite delicious. I couldn't tell you what kind of coffee it was, but it wasn't overpowering. The cashew milk was very creamy, uncommon for alternative milks.
The service was very friendly. The place matches the vibe of the Rise Uptown hotel & Lylo that it's attached to. I would say hobo chic.

I had a delicious cortado with cashew milk here! Very friendly service as well.
Cute place, excellent service and delicious roast. Wish they’d open at 6am for those who are earlier risers :)

Cartel Roasting Co. is a consistently great coffee shop, known for its fantastic and delicious coffee. The location is very small with minimal seating options inside and out, setting no more than 8 people inside, but also has seating outside. The space is clean and well maintained with nice midcentury modern details, though the space feels a bit unsettled to some.
The menu is great and easy to read, featuring drinks like a fantastic nitro cold brew that is smooth and creamy, a bold and flavorful breve cortado, perfect hot or iced lattes, and unique offerings like the Autumn Matcha. Prices are reasonable. They also sell super fresh whole beans roasted within the last few days.
The staff are polite, friendly, and kind, providing speedy service. They seem to be enjoying themselves and can skillfully make magnificent, perfectly balanced drinks with divine texture. The shop is a perfect little location to stop in for a coffee, conveniently located next to a hotel.
