“I’ve known this place since the late ’90s. I used to dine here often, but eventually stopped coming. My last visit was back in 2013. Out of curiosity, I decided to stop by for lunch.

Everything looked the same familiar faces, same atmosphere, and that classic not-so-friendly greeting: “How many? Sit here!” (lol).

I ordered my usual lunch special sesame chicken. The price is still reasonable: $10 for egg drop soup, rice, an egg roll, a deep-fried wonton, and the main dish.

The taste was almost exactly as I remembered it. The service hasn’t changed either your typical Chinese restaurant style: brisk, efficient, maybe a little rough around the edges. They sound rude, but they’re really not. It’s just part of the charm.“

That was me today. After a full bathroom remodel—dusty, tired, and honestly not smelling my best—I pulled into the Panda Express on Grand ave just hoping for a quick bite before diving into my studies.

I walked in looking like I’d just wrestled a wall—and maybe lost. The staff didn’t blink. They greeted me with respect and a smile, even though I probably looked like a mess. I placed my order and was told they were out of chow mein, so it’d be a few extra minutes. No problem. I was patient.

Here’s where it gets good: when my food came out, not only was it fresh—it was PACKED. I mean that tray was stacked like they knew exactly what kind of day I’d had. That kind of quiet kindness? You don’t forget that. They didn’t know me, didn’t owe me anything—but they still looked out. That little extra made a huge difference.

I brought it home, cracked open my books, and that first bite hit like a warm hug from the universe. Delicious, fresh, and satisfying in every way. I could’ve cried, not gonna lie.

“Food came out piping hot! Took it home and it was still steaming by the time we ate. Also, the packaging was very fool proof, everything double wrapped. They put so much food it was bulging from the box.

Orange chicken was crunchy and candied, the way I like it. Lo mein was delicious as well. Husband said his sesame chicken was great too. We would go back!“

The food is always ready when I arrive, but summoning a worker to hand the ready food from behind the counter takes a minute sometimes. Not horrible, but it’d be nice if the shelf was on our side for a quick pickup or if there was always someone behind the register present to assist. That’s the only thing I’d ask to improve on, everything else seems great!👍“
