My husband and I had an amazing time. We had dinner at the bar. The bartenders were great and very attentive. My husband had carne asada tacos and I had the El Mez burger. Both amazing and full of flavor. For drinks I had to try La Mala hora cocktail and he tried of couple of the LOCAL craft beers. Their beer selection is great with all local beers from different breweries in Tucson. Needless to say, we had a great time and the ladies at the bar made it even better.
We were looking for a Gluten-Free restaurant and found El Mezquite...I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised - great GF taco's and genuinely friendly service - the location was good since we were exploring downtown Tucson, and this restaurant was connected to the tucson convention center and 2 blocks away from Fox Theatre. BLUF: The food is overpriced low quality lackluster “Mexican” food. The menu has few options and even when there are very few people in the restaurant the service is slow.
