“We live super close to licks and I love to always try a different flavor and there custom milkshakes are so good also, if you look to the right of the fridge and between the lounge area on the wall there’s a menu for a bunch of different types of ice cream like one is a peanut butter sorta vibe ice cream cone and also another amazing thing is there staff they are always so friendly, I highly recommend this if your driving by or if you are eating dinner somewhere near I definitely recommend stopping by.“

I arrived at 5 minutes before 10pm, not knowing they close at 10 since they changed from their summer hours. I was still going to get served but I decided to come back the next day. I got the Vodka Rigatoni with meatballs. Mine was good and sauce was rich. Some red pepper spice to the sauce. Meatballs were moist and decently flavorful. Wife got a special birria elote pasta. The birria pasta sauce was moderately spicy, corn was fresh, and meat pretty good.

Overall a decent experience and decent meal. And the fresh pasta is a definite bonus. Would've wished it came with some bread or a side salad with the pasta tho.“

“Stumbled into this place because I saw a picture of the rose flavored Gola. Very nice people educated me and served me my first rose Gola. Wow, this dessert was nothing like raspados, such a complex flavor with cream, coconut, almonds. Will be back again with my whole family.“

“Quite frankly, last night at The Hub/Playground was one of the finest nights I have ever had in Tucson, and we eat out A LOT! The purpose of last night's soiree was to celebrate the release of Whiskey Del Bac's Small Batch Bourbon "Sentinel," which is simply outstanding in its own right. So good that I bought three (3) bottles to give as gifts to three (3) very lucky close friends: my brother, Brian, my close friend, confidante, and Ricoh copier expert, Anthony, and the parents of my significant other's daughter's boyfriend's parents, John & Sunny who live in San Diego. If you enjoy small batch bourbons, you MUST purchase a bottle or, better yet, a case of Whiskey Del Bac's "Sentinel." The food prepared by The Hub/Playground matched with each tastefully created cocktail using Sentinel Small Batch Bourbon, of which there were three (3) dishes, was incredible and are on the menu of The Hub. There was a delicious chicken, braised beef rib and salmon dish. We loved them ALL!!! We will return for sure. The food was incredibly good and the service was absolutely perfect! But what also made the night were the presence of Whiskey Del Bac's Master Distiller & Blender, Mark A. Vierthaler and his wife, and their personable Marketing Director, Ariel. Folks, take it from an alleged "gentleman" and "scholar" but actual "judge of good whiskey," they are creating something very special at Whiskey Del Bac. Finally, the events of last night cannot go unnoticed without mentioning the solo guitarist, "Freddy J." who reminds me of a hip and soulful George Benson in a cowboy hat. The man is a huge talent in every respect of the word. If you see a release party involving Whiskey Del Bac or any reason to imbibe Whiskey Del Bac products anywhere, do it! You will not be disappointed; especially if it is combined with The Hub and Playground. Simply put: among the finest events anywhere and at any time.“

The strawberry was bright and fruity without being overly sweet, and the vanilla added this creamy, dessert-like balance that made every bite feel like summer in a cup. The texture was spot on--perfectly shaved ice that melts just right instead of clumping up.

The shop has a friendly, upbeat vibe and a colorful menu that makes it hard to pick just one flavor. Everything looked so tempting! My only tiny critique (why 4 stars instead of 5) is that I wish the portion was a little bigger for the price--but the quality and freshness definitely make up for it.

If you're vegan or just want a dairy-free option that doesn't compromise on flavor, this spot has you covered. I'll definitely be back to explore more combos--next time I'm eyeing something tropical!
