August 2026- we tried to make it for happy hour between 11 and 2 but could not order however, it it was $10 pho from 2-6pm! Love it. If you haven't already,come check out this restaurant who's family has served Vancouver for decades! All staff are so wonderful. Thank you!

Based on recent reviews, Chao Mami (formerly Brokenrice) is one of the best priced Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver. They have $10 specials every Mon-Wed-Fri between 11am to 2 pm and happy hour from 2-6pm. The lunch specials on Mon, Wed and Fri are an incredible value. The lemongrass chicken and grilled pork chop taste amazing and the portions are absolutely huge. The meats are flavorful and grilled just right. For happy hour, there is a $10 bowl of Pho, and for $1 extra, the full garnish set is available. While the portion was great, the broth was a bit on the lighter/blander side. The real tomato crab noodles were cooked really well and the broth was flavourful, though a tad bit salty. The coconut Thai iced tea was rich and creamy. Food comes quickly but don't expect top notch service. It gets crowded during lunchtime and it's noisy inside due to customers chatting and loud music. The bathroom is clean but has a small toilet seat. Overall, the specials are a really good deal and the food is good.
