“Two of us had the weekly Burger special - teriyaki chicken burger & opted for the fries as the side. Our chicken was moist and good. I thought we would have had a bit more pineapple on it however the other person was fine with the amount they had. I was able to get malt vinegar as a choice for the fries as well as regular white vinegar. One of us had the salmon (fresh salmon) burger & fries. She said it was moist and tasted good. Two had house white wine and I had a spritzer with cranberry juice. And to top it all off we each had a 'special' coffee - decaf coffee with liquor and whip cream- sugared rim. The server was very good with making sure we had what we wanted and gave us time to look over the menu; not making us feel rushed.“

“I had a delightful lunch here on the patio. The server was kind and friendly, and the food was delicious and tasted homemade, in the best of ways. The burger bun was especially good and we learned they are made in-house. We also really enjoyed the calimari and the fries.“

“Just STOP at the Whistle Stop! This under-rated, 80% locals nice-little-pub has some CRAZY hidden gems. We had the steak-n-prawns special ($15 ?) and the (you’ll need to sit down for this) STONEGRILL halibut. I can’t even. This seemed like an item that would be comfortable in any upscale urban restaurant. Pardon me going in and on about this menu item… it is a hot stone, 6”x6” (or maybe 6”x4”?) at 800 degrees, with lemons and then the halibut (raw) that cooks as you get oriented to your meal. You get salad or soup, an entire potato with fixins, and veggies. Add your butter to your veggies and then put them on the stone too! It is the freshest, hottest food you’ll have in a long time. 100% recommend this and there are steak options too.We had some good Guinness/ Kilkenny and hope the pub will feature even some cans of very local beer. Vancouver Island draft choices are good, but as always more would be better. Our server has been with the pub for 17 years and pretty much knows everyone which is saying something good. It’s down home, not fancy, keep your decor expectations low, but the menu and smiling faces mights surprise you in a good way. ?Sorry I ate all the food before I took the pictures. Also not sorry.“

“I went into here with a though of typical restaurant..... Was I wrong ... The ambience is outstanding... The bartender was outstanding the entire time and helped pick out a top notch craft beer based on my taste/ likes ... The wood fired pizza was boss.... Overall one of the top establishments I have “
