“We had lunch at the Cactus Club today April 12, 2022. The location is great because parking is not a problem. Food was amazing and our server, Raeya, was outstanding. She greeted us with a most beautiful smile and warm welcome. Service was consistently good throughout the meal and Raeya was readily available. “No other place in the world you can get minestrone, unlimited warm bread with whipped garlic butter, and spaghetti and meatballs… as a vegan!!!! Pair all this with a crispy Coke Zero and I’m down for the count. As a restaurant owner that mostly doesn’t eat at flesh spots… I make an exception for the factory because there is minimal risk of cross contamination (thanks chef mic). The patio is so nice and chihuahua-friendly. Just make sure you specify no parm on the impossible meatballs, and add whole button mushrooms as desired. Fire.“

“A true hidden gem in Kelowna. Don't expect a 'fine dining' experience, but the food and service are always high quality. Sometimes there's minor mistakes, but these are students making careers for themselves, which I'll always support. Great value.“

“We had a wonderful late lunch at Helmut's in Vernon. The sandwiches and soup were delicious and home-made. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. After lunch we spent about $75 in the deli and had some of the best meats, sausage rolls and pepperoni sticks we've ever had! My only complaint is that they're so far away from where we live! Five BIG stars to Helmut's!“

I ordered the Laksa Noodle Soup (XL) and Curry Beef with Rice — both dishes were 🔥 packed with flavor, comforting, and served in generous portions. The laksa had the perfect balance of spice 🌶️ and creaminess 🥥, while the curry beef was rich, tender, and paired perfectly with the rice 🍛.

💰 Pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes — definitely great value for money!

😊 The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with friendly and quick service. Perfect spot for a satisfying lunch or dinner.

🔧 The only small suggestion I’d make is that the plates and bowls are starting to show their age and could use a refresh. It’s a minor detail, but updating the serving ware would really elevate the overall vibe.

“Getting good, attentive service is tough to find these days. I went in at 4:30 on a Friday, while the J’s were beating the Tigers. Busy.
I always sit at the wood (the bar) and being in the industry myself, it was a real treat to watch her not miss a beat. From napkins to the bill, Becky was on point.

The young fellow at the bar helped take our order and he was so pleasant to deal with we ended up ordering some food as well. The GF pizza was hot and tasty. No dry crust. Today after a long 12 hour day I needed a greasy burger so I got an overloaded “The Grilly Steak” with double meat, extra mozzarella cheese & mushrooms. It was delicious and hit the spot, exactly what I was looking for! I was happy with the service I received by Raman - she did an amazing job receiving my order and making it right.

Son James joined the vision for many years keeping the tradition alive until passing the torch to Mansor Abrahim (Padova University, Antico Napoletana, Pane Vino) this January.
