“It took over 10 years from when I first heard that the new Canex will be getting a "popular coffee franchise." I never would have thought I was going to have to pour my own coffee though. Not that it's a problem. The machines are easy to use and it tastes like Tim Hortons.“

“Delicious coffee. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly. Got some good advice on making a french press coffee at home. The surroundings are cosy and the place is immaculate. On the days i schlep into Courtenay, the veggie breakfast wrap is such a treat. I am really glad they decided to move to the Valley.“

“I typically like to stop in for an early afternoon cookie and their selection consists of some very good cookies. My favourites include a malted chocolate chip cookie and a gluten free chocolate cookie. There are an other choices available and all are good. Their bread pudding is quite decadent and is also a good dessert item. The staff are friendly and there are tables available to those that wish to stay and relax while they enjoy their coffee and snack.“

“What a cool and welcoming place. We just happened upon this great cafe on a daytrip to Courtenay. The owner Crystal was so fun and friendly. We had the espresso milkshake and Donkey Punch coffee - both fabulous! What a delightful surprise to stumble across Coffee Luv Bug ?“

“The nicest kindest place with the tastiest coffee! We ordered two coffees and a sandwich but left without the sandwich. Totally on us, we were chatting and distracted. When we went back an hour later they replaced it no questions and were so kind about it! Incredible service!“

“We may have waited 20 minutes to get a table but after the first bite -- i would have waited an hour. This is a very quaint restaurant, prices were very fair considering the quality and hard-work the staff put into it. Breakfast was served quickly warm and every fork full was savoured. “Stumbled upon Cakebread quite by accident yesterday on my way somewhere else. Just grabbed a good looking baguette and left. Was pleasantly impressed when I sat down to eat it a few hours later. Excellent taste, crumb, crust and size. I only wish I lived closer. Bread that good is very hard to find. All the best to you Cakebread.“

“Finding a gluten free breakfast on the go is always difficult, but in airports it’s next to impossible. On The Fly has the most delightful gluten free spanakopitas though and I was shocked! They also have oat and almond milk for drinks and they are so kind and genuinely happy. Made for a very happy celiac :) thank you.“

“Your one stop shop for all your tea needs. Not only do they have the best quality teas, they also have delicious flavoured mixes that only use natural flavours. In my opinion this is the best tea shop in BC! (I once heard it recommended as the best tea shop ever in the airport in Vancouver.)“

“There is an area in the back that is very cozy and usually quiet, great for reading books or magazines. The food is short on variety but tasty. Note that there is more food list high up on the blackboard wall.The men's washroom could do with a good scrub on the floor, as shown in the photo.“
