Sanpoutei Ramen Reviews
Nice 👍🏻 nice
I used to really like this ramen place, but honestly, it feels like it’s getting worse and worse now.
The opening hours are unpredictable, the broth is both too salty and cloudy, and although the whole shop has plenty of comfortable seats, they insist on cramming customers into the small square tables in the middle. The staff also have a total “I don’t want to work” attitude.

The Tsukemen/dipping ramen here is the closest to how the Japanese make them. I fully recommend them for this alone.

Sanpoutei Ramen offers a cozy atmosphere with top-notch service and some of the best ramen in Vancouver. The deep-fried chicken appetizer is a crunchy delight, and the main dishes like Niigata Shoyu Special and dipping noodles are flavorful. The restaurant’s digital menu is convenient, accessible through a QR code. Many customers praise the ramen broth, especially the thick broth in Tsukemen, which clings deliciously to the noodles. The chasu is well-balanced with a good mix of lean and fat, grilled to add a nice char that enhances the flavor. The miso broth is prepared with care, offering just the right fat and flavor balance, showing the chef’s love for ramen. The service is friendly and attentive, with staff often going above and beyond to ensure a great experience. The restaurant is very clean and has maintained its popularity over the years, with many returning customers. Parking is best early, as it fills up quickly. Despite some mixed reviews about portion sizes and extra charges for ingredients like bamboo shoots, Sanpoutei Ramen remains a favorite spot for ramen lovers outside Japan.
