“We had a wonderful experience at Beanery Cafe. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. You can really tell that the owners care about creating a memorable experience for their customers. What stood out was their attention to even the smallest details. They had even replaced a broken picture frame to ensure that everything was just right for their guests. That kind of care and pride in the business really makes a difference.
A lovely cafe with great people behind it. Definitely worth a visit if you’re“

“Originally, Jan and Silvia Petrasek moved from Slovakia to Calgary in 2003 to start their dream of a European bakery. After several years, they were supplying dozens of organic, health and European stores but decided to perhaps return to Slovakia. A friend convinced them to visit the wonderful Okanagan before they left… luckily for us it fully captivated them! Family owned, hand crafted and beautifully European Petrasek Bakery is an Okanagan Gem- the line ups and happy customers speak volumes! Special treat: pick up fresh croissants, pain au chocolat and pastries for my wife and her work friends or bring them to work for my favourite people. 🥐🥖🥨🍞🏆“

“I bought pies there on Saturday August 30th 2025. Better than any pie I ever had, even back in SA. I can also recommend the boerewors, the best in Canada by a long shot“
