Hooked Fish Bar Reviews
Love this place a lot especially that it's right at the beach and the option of outdoor or indoor sitting. great food and the calamari was pretty good.
Yum 😋🤤
You can't really get better than fish and chips on a terrace, overlooking the ocean. The staff were amazing, accommodating a large group! The Hooked Fish Bar offers a casual dining experience with a patio overlooking the seaside, providing stunning views of Crescent Beach and the nearby Gulf Islands. Its wraparound deck and beachfront patio are perfect for enjoying the salt air, bird watching, and soaking in the coastal vibe. The casual, surf-vibes décor—with metal tables and ocean-tone accents—fits the laid-back beach aesthetic. Since opening in the summer of 2011, it has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors, praised for its friendly service and picturesque setting.
The menu features a variety of seaside favorites, including fish & chips, fish tacos, chowder, burgers, and more. Customers consistently describe the fish and chips as "fantastic" and "not heavy and greasy," with the fish enrobed in light, puffy batter and remaining flaky inside. The cod is often highlighted as a "good sized piece, fresh, and cooked perfectly" with "great batter" and "solid fries." Many reviews mention the delicious chicken burger with coleslaw, tender and juicy chicken, and the overall excellent quality of food. The atmosphere is casual and fun, with reviews praising the friendly, helpful staff.
While most guests enjoy their meals, some feel that the prices are a little high and that certain dishes, like the beef burger, may be overcooked or just "mediocre." Despite this, many visitors find the fish and chips to be "solid," with one reviewer noting that the cod and chips were truly excellent—comparable to Moby Dicks fish and chips—and enjoyed the salt air and waterfront view. The parking can be a bit tight, but the quality and setting often make up for it, creating a memorable seaside dining experience.
