Awesome food very good service we enjoy the food and the atmosphere thank you for a lovely dinner … Anna and Paul from Australia 🇦🇺
A bit of a mixed bag --- this place is Cute but the service was uneven and extremely lacking. There was about 15m at the end of the meal i was waiting for my server to come back with the General Manager/owner looming over me from behind my booth -- felt odd, and maybe a bit intimidating. I really dislike people standing behind me watching me eat in lieu of managing your staff.

Kamei on Broadway is a well-established Japanese restaurant that offers a great dining experience. The restaurant provides a diverse menu with both traditional and innovative Japanese dishes, including delectable sushi and sashimi. Customers praise the excellent food, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere, making Kamei a hidden gem in the city. The restaurant is a popular choice for both casual and special occasions, and it consistently delivers a high-quality dining experience.
The menu features a specialty roll that is delicious and offers great views of the mountains as the sun sets. The service is generally good, with polite and pleasant staff, though it can be difficult to get their attention during busy times. The restaurant offers a variety of fresh sashimi and uni, but the cooked dishes like unagi and crab can be overcooked and chewy. The portion sizes are very decent, and the alcohol menu, while smaller compared to other Japanese restaurants, still provides a good selection.
Kamei is fantastic for a casual Asian-Canadian comfort dining experience, with great value and an ideal spot to work, study, or gather with friends. The comfortable seating areas and the extensive happy hour menu are definite highlights, and the welcoming and friendly staff contribute to the overall enjoyable atmosphere.
