Mindblowing value sushi. Huge portions. Tuna sashimi is poor quality, everything else is excellent.
I've been coming to this location for years if not decades. Their tuna is mostly a miss, they consistently have that string in there. Spicy tuna sometimes even have a small bone which is unacceptable. However, their salmon is always good. My go-to are house roll and salmon nigiri. Avoid tuna here and you're good.
The value sushi spot in the city is still going strong. While this place is quantity over quality, the quality is nothing to scoff at. Everything tasted good. The teriyaki chicken was nice with big pieces. From my experience the tuna can be hit or miss but salmon usually turn out well. Definitely recommend the salmon nigiri.
Would also recommend doing take out as seating is very limited and cramped.
Only do debit or etransfer, but that wasn't a problem for me.

KAMURA SUSHI, formerly SAMURAI SUSHI on Cambie, has improved under new ownership, offering very good sushi and friendly service. The restaurant provides large, delicious rolls and fresh sashimi at affordable prices, making it great value for money. Popular items include the mixed combo with dynamite roll and the Mango California roll. While the store is small with limited seating, it is mainly a take-away spot, though dine-in is available. Customers appreciate the generous portions, especially the melt-in-your-mouth tuna, and find the prices fair. The restaurant accepts cash and e-transfer only, which may be an inconvenience. Despite facing road closures near Oakridge Mall, it remains busy and well-loved for its quality sushi, fresh sashimi, and friendly atmosphere.
