Was walking through the area and decided to come in for a beer. Turns out they were having a customer appreciation day, with beer specials and free KFC lunch! The second we walked in the staff were extremely friendly, made sure we had everything we needed and checked up on us. They gave us cookies and there's free prizes as well. Highly recommend!
I'm giving this place a lot of TLC because it's patrons deserve it. These are largely end-of-the-line alcoholics who are living on next to nothing. This is what they live for and I mean that literally. I want to see them keep their space where they can drink for cheap (at this stage, they drink to stay alive. It's not to get drunk. Ok, so I went in at around 4:30Pm and got out at around 11 PM. There was something at this place that just kept me there and we kept playing pool for like an hour or so and it was great. I met this guy Mike, George the Hippy and Ben there. I listened to their wild stories about drug dealers, gangsters and what not.
