“I was in Victoria for work and was looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant that was open a bit later - and glad I stumbled upon UKatsu!

The food was amazing and made to order!! The service was so amazing, I told them that I loved the soup and they gave me an extra bowl since I was raving about it. I also thought the price was very reasonable.

Great spot, would highly recommend!!“

“My husband and I were visiting from Vancouver and spent the afternoon working at this coffee shop. The service was efficient as we noticed that the tables were cleaned right after patrons left and the coffee was well-made. We had flat whites! The brownies and lemon squish were so good! The atmosphere and seating was also very comfortable! Good job! We will visit again. Great coffee!“

“We stopped by Dagwoods Cafe and were absolutely blown away—not just by the food, but by the heart behind it. Elizabeth, the owner, runs the entire show herself, and she does it with such warmth and grace. You can feel the love in everything she makes. I ordered a sandwich and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Yes, it may take a little longer, but that’s only because Elizabeth is crafting each order by hand while handling everything else on her own. She’s doing an amazing job, and deserves recognition—not criticism—for her dedication. If you’re in the area, please support this incredible local business. Be patient, be kind, and you’ll be rewarded with a truly delicious meal and a meaningful experience. Thank you, Elizabeth—you’ve created something really special. We’ll definitely be back.“

“Walked past this place several times not realizing it served food. A tour bus driver recommended it, and it hits the spot for value to taste and quality ratios! I had a beet kale salad with seared ahi tuna. Fantastic, fresh and healthy. Mom went for the more standard grilled chicken sandwich and loved it. Their latte is outstanding, very smooth and rich, and the gluten free (I think it was pistachio chocolate) cookie was incredible. It was around 2 p.m. on a weekday and super busy. Kudos to the 4-5 attendants working their butts off to keep up!“
