“This was our first time here. We chose it because we had to have a meeting and this was a central location with some coming from the Sunshine Coast. I normally am not a fan of pizza, once a year is good enough for me. However, that has now changed. This pizza was so fresh and tasted amazing, especially the crust! I asked for light sauce and the amount was perfect. The owner was very accommodating, some wanted coffee which they don't serve, but he allowed us to pop down the block and grab one from Starbucks and bring it back to have with our meal. The regulars were super friendly and at lunchtime was pretty busy with a lot of workers coming in for lunch. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!“

- excellent pizza
- gorgeous views of the harbour and ocean beyond
- you can walk up to the trestle bridge after you inevitably eat way too much pizza (it's SO good) and work off some calories
- the vibes are vibing at all times

Cons:
- if you don't get one of the tables in the covered area, there's NO shade on the lawn. Recommend to bring an umbrella or shade tent on a hot day
- the bathroom situation is lacking. While better than an outhouse or porta-potty, there is often a line for the washrooms and they are often dirty and overflowing with garbage“

The chicken pesto pizza with jalapeños is hands down a must-order — I’ve been getting it since I was a kid, and it’s as perfect now as it was back then. “I ordered about 50 pieces of a span of a weekend for my youth basketball team visiting from Calgary. The staff was very helpful. The only issues we had my app was glitching and I did not get to receive rewards points for the pizzas we ordered. Otherwise great experience“

“I’ve been coming to this Freshslice location for a while now, and every time I walk in, I wish I get served from Mehak. She is seriously one of the friendliest and most helpful staff members I’ve ever met at any pizza place!
Last night I was trying to decide between a few slices and she patiently explained all the current deals, suggested the best combos, and even made sure my Butter Chicken slice came out extra fresh and hot. Her positive energy and big smile made the whole experience so much better – especially after a long day.
The pizza is always solid but Mehak is the real MVP here. Fast, polite, great communication, and genuinely seems to enjoy making customers happy.

When the pizza was ready, the clerk tried handing me the pizza, but cause the end of the glass counter was curved, the pizza tipped and slid together in the box. “Found this little place while my husband and I were walking up Commercial Drive. All I have to say is " WoW! ". The pizzas were so amazing, light crust, non greasy and full of fresh toppings. They do their own seasoning and it certainly tastes like home cooking. My husband tried out the stromboli and he was so in love with it, said it was the best handheld item he ever had and it's so true. This shop is old school, Ma and Pa pizza place so people please support them. They aren't a franchise and certainly don't taste like one. 100% approved for quality, service. “Great pizza with some unique topping/flavor combinations. Their pizza by the slice are cut into sixth so they're larger than some other places. Staff are super friendly and I was greeted with a smile each time I was there. Prices are reasonable and they have deals online/in store. Takeout is the way to go as the place is tiny with only a few seats and a counter inside. The place can be hard to find as it's sandwiched between a Starbucks and Subway. There's around 10 parking spots out front.“

“This review is about this Abbott Street location. In particular about the people who work here. I've lived in Vancouver for 20 years and I've never seen exemplary customer service than I've consistently received from a young gentleman called Shubhh.

If you're a regular, you know exactly who I mean. He always greets you by name with a pleasant smile, remembers your orders, goes above and beyond in accommodating your preferences. He still asks for my mother's health, who was visiting me about two years ago and was poorly.

In a world that's inherently transactional, and at late night pizza place at that, Shubhh somehow is an example of how to bring humanity to a very ordinary exchange. Getting late night pizza, while occasionally inebriated.

Anyway, pizza is pizza, and Uncle Fatih's is decent and consistent. Honestly, better quality toppings than you'll find in similar establishments open late.

While pizza is pizza, good and kind human beings are rare. And so this is both for readers of this review, and for employers of Shubhh.

The staff pays close attention to details and never ignores you or act busy when you walk in; ( there is an Asian girl ( Filipina I guess) sorry I didn’t ask her for her name …she is constantly cleaning and organizing the place making sure it’s tidy and presentable)they’re always quick to assist, friendly yet very professional. The toppings are always fresh and generous, which sets this location apart from others I’ve tried in Burnaby Surrey or Vancouver, they simply never disappoint They’re my favourite 100% ,and I highly recommend ordering from them .“
