Relive the O.K. Corral Shootout at Griffin's Doc Holliday Festival

Griffin, Georgia, is home to a unique celebration: an annual event that recreates the famous O.K. Corral shootout. The Doc Holliday Festival is happening on September 7 from 10 AM to 5 PM, appealing to history lovers and those interested in the Old West.

The Festival Highlights

During the event, Griffin transforms into a 19th-century frontier town. You can watch action-packed gunfight recreations involving Doc Holliday, the Earp brothers, and the Clanton-McLaury gang. The festival also features live music, food vendors, a parade, and a Barbecue Championship for the best BBQ in town.

Where to Eat in Griffin

While you're in here for the festival, Griffin offers several dining spots for a good munch:

Start your day with a local favorite Country Fried Steak Breakfast Plate at Gritz Family Restaurant. The Corner Café is a good choice for lunch or dinner with its Philly cheese or country-fried steaks. And for something a bit more exotic, Saki Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar is surprisingly good for a small-town joint. Try the Japanese classics like hibachi shrimp and teriyaki chicken there.

When the sun goes down, you have a couple of options for the evening fun. Head to Smokin' Margaritas, a cozy bar with refreshing margaritas and hookahs, or The Tipsy Daisy, a bar known for its great buffalo dip and charcuterie board. Don’t forget to round off the day with a sweet treat from Mrs. Good Day Ice Cream!
