“Simple deli with imported Italian goodies. It seemed family owned and like they had regulars. Really nice people and community vibe. There are many sandwiches to choose or you can make your own. We got one muffuletta and one turkey bacon with pesto, mayo, cheese, and veggies. The gardenia on the muffuletta was delicious! Tangy, flavorful, and chunky. We tried the sourdough roll and it absorbed the gardenia juice really well and not soggy. The turkey was loaded! We got the Dutch crunch bread. Both were very good, bread was amazing I could just eat the roll. I can’t wait to go back.“

“My office is in downtown Walnut Creek and I decided to take a break from the overpriced, underwhelming, $20 lunches that come with a side of poor service and go for a little five minute drive, where I found Morucci’s. They offer a large menu of sandwiches and salads, and because it was difficult to narrow it down. I decided to start at the top and go with the #1 one Italian sub. It was really incredible! Rather than add on the suggested mustard or pesto, I asked for an unconventional ingredient to be added to an Italian sandwich (Mayo) and I was grateful that they didn’t (outwardly) judge me for my choice, because combined with the Italian dressing it was the perfect creamy, tangy combo. There’s a lovely outdoor shaded eating area where I was able to enjoy my sandwich. I will absolutely be back very soon. I’m hoping to work my way down the menu, but that Italian sub is going to be tough to beat. More Morucci’s, please!“

“My old pal Limney Gilbert got kicked in the mouth by one of Bucktoothed Mary's horses a month ago, and he's had his mouth wired shut since then. This morning they cut the wires! He asked me to bring him a ham sandwich and chips from the Joaquin Deli because he's been drinking all his meals from a straw, and he's ready to chew! It's my first time at the Joaquin Deli and I'll tell you what...it's clean, the ingredients are fresh as can be and the prices are right where they should be! All the food has the handmade touch, from the Asian salad dressing to the barbeque grilled chicken used in the sandwiches and salads.
