“It was a little hard to figure out where to go to get there if ur using Google maps. The easiest way to get there is to park in the parking garage under the building and take the elevator up. If you go early enough it's a lot easier to maneuver. Like 6ish... the food is fresh and really good strawberry crasaunt !! I was a little disappointed with the strawberry bagels and the strawberry cream cheese bc it didnt taste like strawberry very much. But it was still really good. Thr store want too crowded and I didn't have to wait long at all. I will forsure be going back .“

“This is the cutest little breakfast spot in this part of SF! On one hand, I hope they blow up online and get the same love as other bakeries have, but on the other hand, I want the lines to stay short!

We got the pain au chocolate, which was so delicious! The chocolate filling was great and they had a copious amount in the pastry. It was also soft and warm, probably one of the best pain au chocolates I have ever had. We also got the iced chai latte, which was flavorful and nice! Finally, we got the jalapeño cheese bagel with garlic herb cream cheese. The cream cheese was scrumptious, but the bagel felt a little stale.

Service was fast for the place’s size, and it smelled delicious inside when we walked in. There is a little seating area but it’s probably better to take your food to go.“

“Easily the best (and most disgusting) bagel shop on polk street! years ago I came in for a breakfast bagel, the lady was mopping the floor. She stopped what she was doing, took my order and cash, got change, and proceeded to make the bagel. “L’s is a wonderful place if you have a gluten allergy / celiac disease!! They are extremely caring and careful (make sure to tell them you have an allergy) and they went above and beyond to ensure my gluten free bagel was prepared safely (changed their gloves, used all clean surfaces etc.). They are clearly very knowledgable and prepared to meet dietary needs. And the gluten free bagel tasted delicious!!! Which is so rare. Can’t recommend enough. I’ll definitely be back!!“

“Very good bagels, run by a very nice family. The atmosphere is clean, but not somewhere that's very inviting to eat. Since the pandemic, I haven't seen literally anybody eating here. People just get their stuff to go. That said, they make proper boiled bagels fresh every day. They're chewy and crisp when toasted, which is exactly how a bagel should
be. I'm a lox guy, and they've only ever served me good, fresh lox. This is an important detail. Tons of bagel places serve fishy lox that you can tell hasn't been properly refrigerated or stored. This is never the case at house of bagels. To be honest, I've kind of had an addiction to this place. I go on jags where I get a bagel there 4 times a week....one last thing: try the pastrami bagel. It's delicious.

Kid-friendliness: I've been taking my kid there since he was 9 years old. They love him and treat him so nicely that it makes me love them. It's his favorite breakfast.“

I'm from Oakland, but today after eating an Everything bagel I was transported to New York's Lower East Side.

“I stumbled across this café in Berkeley. I was in the neighborhood and wanted a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Customer service was outstanding. Very friendly. I ordered a Americano café and a classic half plain bagel with cream cheese to go.
When I got to the car and opened up the box with the bagel, I was pleasantly surprised at what I was looking at. I had to take a photo. Even more surprised when I took the first bite. This was the best bagel I’ve ever had! The taste was amazing. Everything was so fresh. I took a sip of my coffee and that too was really good!

“Our post-wedding WiseSons Sunday catered brunch in our home exceeded all expectations.

Two assigned staff, Zane and Vincent, showed up on time, set up the entire brunch to perfection, kept everything running so smoothly, tidied up, replenished so that we could be 100% present to our 70 guests.

There were probably more instances than I can name where they went above and beyond, so I will only describe one.

I thought I had ordered vegan cream cheese for our handful of vegan guests, but I must have forgotten to put it in the order. They saw a few avocados in the kitchen and (this was all their idea after first offering to go out and buy some vegan cream cheese) they whipped up a guacamole for our vegan guests to spread on their bagels!

We love that you provided your own waste and composting (our bins are overflowing from this past week of festivity) and that when they left the house, everything that could be stored in the fridge was stored and there was no sign they were ever even here. The kitchen was spotless! We had great Wise Sons leftovers the day after (this morning). We are thrilled that we hired Wise Sons to cater our brunch and would do it again. Highly recommend!“

“Needed to pick up a quick dessert after enjoying the most amazing pizza a few doors down at Outta Sight. Gateway drew us in with their stacks of pink donut boxes--an immediate sign that this is a legit donut place. Our go-tos: blueberry and crunch which were immediately recognizable in the glass case. The lady behind register was very friendly and before we could assume it was cash only, she brought the POS out for us to tap and go. Gotta love it when a humble mom & pop keeps up w/tech. One excited bite out of each donut and we knew that Gateway would be our fav shop in the city. These donuts are AMAZING. They're fresh but more interestingly, they're sweet without being sickening (think opposite spectrum of a Krispy Kreme). I'm sure there's some kind of sorcery involved behind the recipe, but whatever they're doing is incredible. Even the small detail like the blueberry colored dough inside the donut is testament to their special touch. By the way, 2 donuts only cost us $3.75! What a deal.“

“Stumbled on this place when working across the street servicing a customer's equipment and needed to grab lunch nearby. Had the best turkey and swiss deli sandwich of my life, not kidding. Now, every time I drive by the place I salivate. Had the chance to stop by there again today, one year later, and the turkey and swiss sandwich was even better! Fresh high quality bread, turkey, swiss cheese, tomato, red onion, lettuce, and some kind of special sauce. Incredibly delicious and a very rare find!“
