“Deeeelish! My favorite thing here is the chicken tikka roll, the pratha is so good and it’s very saucy and the perfect amount of spice. I also got the garlic masala fries and samosa and a mango lassi, all very good. Also the folks who work at wrap and roll are the best, so friendly. Highly recommend!“

“Yesterday I had the pleasure of walking into this family owned establishment, The environment was clean, and the people were very kind. The menu was exceptional with great prices. I got the chicken Marcella, the naan, and the salmon which was the daily special. The chicken Masala was perfectly spiced. I got the mild because I can't eat spicy food. I dipped the naan in it and it tasted perfect. The naan was big and fresh and its own separate bag, so I was able to take it home and munch on it later now the salmon was delicious. It was super crispy and juicy on the inside, and the seasoning was complementary to the fish. it was wonderful to be able to talk to the Chef and get to know the people that cooked my food. The chef that's been working there. He's on the establishment for a while and he's been cooking for over 40 years. He also told me that he is from New York, which definitely shows in his food because this Indian Pakistani restaurant is definitely authentic. I will drive an hour and a half to come back here again. Definitely would recommend them for Catering or a nice dinner date.“

“Came here with a big group and we all get good food, super fast, and had a great spot to sit! The night was super warm so we sat outside and it was perfect. The menu has something for everyone. The biryani plates are huge! Definitely enough to take some home.“

“This restaurant food is much more better than other Pakistani Indian restaurants all around the US. Chicken biryani & seekh kabob was so delicious authentic Pakistani flavor specially the Tea which is so so so good like Pakistani famous Pathan’s tea and we never had an experience before this in US. The best thing is they make in front of us so the quality of the food is so fresh and yummy like your own kitchen.“

“I just tried this place for their lunch special and I know I’m gonna get so fat in the coming months. I filled myself up to the brim with their delicious food. I normally hate okra, but their okra and cauliflower was a game changer. Staff were very attentive and nice and the dining room room is very clean.“

“This place serves CHEESE STUFFED NAAN. It's just so legit. You can ask them to stack multiple as whole cheesy pillows or get the standard single-sliced-into-4 basket. Also everything on the menu I've tasted so far is deliciously layered and complex, satisfyingly spicy and salty, and just good solid comfort-food tasty. Only short is that it gets chilly during dinner with the doors open for when they bring out our tandoori (sizzling plates). Dinner here on the weekend brings out families and friend groups along with me and my trans partner.
My current go-to for Pakistani Indian noms 🇵🇰🇮🇳💯“

“Love this place. Food was delicious and affordable. It's a bit hard to measure service and atmosphere for a small counter-service place versus for example a full service fine dining place, but everyone I interacted with at Pakwan was helpful and pleasant and the casual environment was welcoming and comfortable.“

“Amazing service and the food was so good.
We had two birthdays and they gave us huge portions of saffron ice cream and Gulaab jamun on the house. Overall everything was excellent. The garlic naan is so buttery, so is the karahi and the Dum biryani.“

“I got Karahi Gosht and it was authentic and flavorful. Serving quantity was decent as well. I live in the South Bay and most places over there don't get this dish right. 5* from me, for the Karahi Gosht and Naan. Service understandably took some time because they make it fresh and piping hot. And I went there in between performances of standup comedy at Cobb's next door.“

“The food here is absolutely delicious! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it for the amazing flavors and the amount of food. The saag paneer and cheese naan are my absolute favorites — I can’t get enough! I’ve been three times now, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend!“
“Perfect for a drink and a snack before a show at the Fox, or for any night. Thoughtfully crafted original cocktail menu, and delicious bites of American fare with a Pakistani twist, fantastic ambiance, flattering date night lighting, music at the perfect volume, friendly staff and verdant plants. One of my fave spots in Oakland!“

“I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
It is authentic Pakistani taste. LEGIT family owned and operated (the owner’s grandkids are often seen which is so sweet). I feel comfortable taking my baby there in her stroller as the temperature is perfect for her and they’re very kid friendly in case she has a meltdown.
Tastes like a feast in a Pakistani home. Which is like Indian taste but slightly better (in my honest opinion Pakistani taste and masalas are more flavorful)”. A Pakistani baji/aunty (who i think is the daughter in law of the owner) is the chef so it’s as authentic as it gets.
Their Nihari is second to none. I drive an hour from Pacifica to have it. Their chai (“milk tea”) is good too not overcooked at all which some establishments do.
Goat Paya is a delicacy of slow cooking mutton feet which isn’t attempted by many restaurants because of how time consuming and technical the dish is. They do it soo well.
Everything is halal. Highly highly recommended. They’ve been operating here for decades and have a fan base spanning years and years. And for good reason. They’re really sweet. Shout out to Hina baji who is the nicest server ever, she even remembered my order from when I used to come here with my pregnancy cravings!
BUT the best thing is that it is never too crowded that i cant find a seat. They always accept walkins. Prices are reasonable. Parking is easy to find too. Do try it!“

“Ive been eating at Shalimar for 27 years-I have eaten 100 if not 1000s of Indian places globally including NY LA UK DE GE etc. THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE. I had it tonight and sometimes its like how can it get better than that one time and then it is. The Tikka is unique and 1000% its own recipe apart from any I have ever found. Its simple but mega flavor, not overtly creamy a little oily but it the Tikka I compare all others too. Now I have had Indonesian that dresses up dishes like no other but for straight up dishes its the jam. Also the oven baked tandooris are over the top good too. Too bad Im moving finally from SF. This place is very much a part of me and my history, all the old times with friends (even the old Polk location)....all the conversations with staff, so friendly and nice. It will be missed!“

“Visiting a friend I was craving indian food and this place hit the spot. Parking was easy and directly across the street. Slid in for dinner on Monday, service was prompt, portions were reasonably priced, and I can't wait to try try the rose lassi next time.“

“My experience at Chutney Restaurant was not the most pleasant. The food is generally normal, but the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The neighborhood around looks unsafe - there are a lot of homeless people on the street, and you feel uncomfortable because of it. In addition, there is an unpleasant smell near the restaurant, which also spoils the impression. Inside, the situation is quite simple, without comfort. Unfortunately, I don't want to come back here because of the environment.“

“I had late lunch here the other day. The food was good, reasonable prices, and the owner was both friendly and helpful during my visit. Interestingly, based on a previous review, it seems their mood can vary—perhaps it's just the nature of working in the retail restaurant business. One thing to note is that the restaurant feels more like a takeout spot, as all food is served in takeout boxes, even for dine-in customers.“

“Our family hosted a 62nd Bday party at the lovely Zaiqa Indian and Pakistani Restaurant Banquet Hall. This place truly deserves 5 star plus rating. Excellent experience dealing with the restaurant owner Ron. All of his staff made us feel very welcomed and were very accommodating during our event. Food was very delicious and our guests complimented it very highly. Would highly recommend this place for it's authentic Indian/Pakistani food!!“
