Pali Wine Co. Winery • $$

“I had no expectations when I first entered Pali Wine. I walked in thinking "I'll leave after a glass or two" but my thoughts were rerouted when the Saturday evening atmosphere stole my attention. Pali Wine has a nice set up of tables, bar seatings, arm chairs, and a sofa. The service at Pali Wine is friendly. They weren't hovering, and they also weren't neglectful. Came to check on us at appropriate times. We ordered the seasonal flight and cheese board. Both made for an easy share with my company. We enjoyed one of the tastings and decided to then get a glass each of our own. Unbeknownst to us - they have a live dj play a set on the weekend. It was the icing on the cake. The dj played the best old school hip hop tracks and mixed in some newer selections. The location for Pali Wine also couldn't be better. It is directly across the street from the Packing District and nestled between two restaurants all interconnected. Have a drink at Pali Wine and tacos next door. They all share the same building space and no walls divide the businesses. Well thought out plan. Overall, a wonderful experience. 10 out of 10... highly recommend.“

“We went for the lasagna and meatballs and stayed for the wine!DeFalco Family Foods and Wines is a wonderful add to our great little city of Fountain Valley, we’re so excited you’re here! We visited last Saturday and had a fabulous time wine tasting. Anthony and Mike were such warm, friendly, gracious hosts and educators on the family history, wines and delicious food items. We made our way through most of the wines and identified some favorites (Barbera, Sangiovese, White Wine Blend and of course Bubbly Bubbly Rose!) and purchased a few bottles to take home along with some meat lasagna rolls, tortellini, meatballs and sauce. We had such a wonderful time we’re ready to go back again this Saturday! The wine tasting room provided a very comfortable atmosphere, cute red and white checkered table cloth, good music and we loved the mural paintings on the walls, the feel is so inviting.Gus, you have a wonderful gem with DeFalco Family Foods and Wines.“

“We celebrate our sister in law birthday here last night and had the most amazing memorable night! The owner Patty was the star of the show! She made sure that we felt welcomed and was extremely friendly and kind. We definitely enjoyed their wine selection. The Canyon Road Cabernet Sauvignon was my favorite! It was so smooth. I love that it is a family owned business. We met her son who is the winemaker himself. There was also live music and everyone even got to participate in karaoke as well. We all shared many laughs and made new memories here.It was a great place to have a private event. We will definitely come back here for any other future celebrations!“

“Came for a celebration dinner, and it was decent. We had a five course dinner. The Amuse Bouche had an interesting collection of five items, including beef tartar, and salmon mousse. Flavor was quite good, but the tortilla chip was stale.First course was bacon wrapped prawns. Really good prawn, but I wasn’t a fan of the bacon wrap, as bacon trumped out the shrimp flavor. The juice was quite good, I assumed it was cooked with shrimp oil. The sauce also had crunch pieces and a slightly overwhelming (I assume) garlic flavor and I wasn’t too big of a fan.Second course was lamb/goat raviolo. It was decent, nothing too much to mention there.Main course I got the filet mignon. Steak was cooked very well, and nicely seasoned. However I’m not too big of a fan of the carrot paste, felt a bit like baby food. Side veggies mushroom and zucchini were a little bit on the oily side.Desert was olive oiled cake. It was alright, I wish the filling in the middle would be different than on the top.Overall, it was a good experience, decent flavor, especially considering the price point. The waitstaff were very attentive. The downstairs wine cellar was slightly underwhelming, as it just felt like a basement with wine stored on the shelf. And the intermission was new to me. We had a break for a good while before the main course, and I’d only assume it’s because the kitchen couldn’t keep up with preparing the main all at the same time.“
