Good food and good services.
This is a, as the namesake, Shanghai style restaurant. The decor and style of the place is modern and warm. The dishes are typical of Shanghainese favorites. The ingredients are relatively fresh and certain dishes are tasty, such as the vegetable rice and turnip cake. Overall, we had a good experience here.
The poop on a stick is Bomb !!!

Located in the same plaza as 99 Ranch Market on Baldwin in Arcadia, 上海灘 Shanghailander Palace offers an authentic Shanghainese food experience. The restaurant has a spacious, more modern interior with a large main dining room and private dining rooms in the back. The food is excellent with many traditional Shanghai dishes, including a great selection of Shanghainese, Cantonese, and Sichuan food. The pig pots of soups and the most famous 東坡肉 are musts. The food is quality authentic Shanghai style cuisine, plated to look good as well as it tastes, with lots of variety. It is a solid Shanghainese fare, though bit on the pricier side. Service is quick and friendly, with waiters helping with broken Mandarin. The place gets very busy so making a reservation ahead of time for special occasions is recommended. For big groups, a private room is recommended. The only gripe is that all dishes may come out at the same time, making it hard to fit them on the serving turn. Parking can get limited when the restaurant fills up. Highly recommended for special occasions.
