One of the most iconic burger joints in Central California. Been coming here since I was a kid. The French Burger, Big Big Burrito, and Pastrami are as great as ever. Same with the crinkle cut fries. Same with the decor. Don’t miss it.
The nostalgic feeling . The recipe is still the same . Who ever thought of that famous French burger is a genius . It can only work because of the famous bread . Which is amazingly made in Bakersfield too!! That bread has won honors , well deserved honors. Way back in those days ( remember those good ol days! :-)

I just went back to Andre's I used to go when I was 18 and now I'm 64 and I took my kids and we enjoyed the pastrami and the burgers and the big big burrito

Andre's Drive In is a longtime jewel and community favorite in Bakersfield. The food is super delicious and absolutely amazing, with fresh, flavorful meals made with care. The whole menu has great selections, including the big burrito, big boy burrito, pastrami sandwich, and burgers. The fries have a classic seasoning that is addicting, and the fried pies are handmade, fried with glaze like a donut and excellent. Service is always welcoming, friendly, and consistent, with staff serving with a smile and being very helpful with questions. Prices can be a bit on the high side and have gone way up, but it is lower than other restaurants in the area plus has better quality meals. Some note the big burrito was not as good as expected, and the seating and sign could use updates. However, it is a Bakersfield classic everyone should try. It is family owned and operated by local people. It is recommended to visit the website and call the order ahead.
