“I discovered a hidden gem in Bass Lake after stumbling upon their name in a recommendation from our timeshare resort. I figured it must be worth checking out, and I was not disappointed. The menu was extensive and offered a variety of options. We ordered big plates of our choice and were impressed with the rich and tasty flavors. The portions were also generous, and the bill was very reasonable. The staff was excellent and provided great service.”

“You can't beat the view. It's lovely at any hour of the day. If you can make it to breakfast before 11am, it's delicious. Try the raspberry french toast. It's delectable. Between the houses of 11am and 4pm, this more upscale part of the restaurant is closed, but you can grab lunch upstairs, at their more casual dining restaurant and bar. I had the Poke bowl, and really loved it. It was also quite the hefty portion. So definitely a lot of bang for your buck. Dinner at Ducey's downstairs us a little more upscale without being boujee. The filet mignon is incredible. I also have to mention that it's very family friendly and that I appreciated the sweet treatment my kids received while there.”

“The kids love this place for the ice cream first! It's always a destination for them daily when at the lake. They offer Italian and Italian cream sodas - these are my go to when we pop in. The sodas are a treat As I don't really know other places that offer such delights. They've got an assortment of syrups to choose your flavor...I'll always go berry of some sort (mango was weird). Now that I know, I know. The pizza is amazing here! From the crust to the ample toppings, every bite is a good one. The crust always makes it to crispy on the bottom and there's never a leftover end piece! Chewy and crunchy depending on the bite, they have a really good crust here. Either planned pizza dinner or dinner in a crunch, this place is a good one to have nearby at the lake. Sadly they're only open on weekend during the off season, plan accordingly!”

You can tell they take pride in offering fresh and unique menu options. We have been here many times over the years and always have a great experience.”

“this place had exquisite fine dining, the food was meant for kings. I could not have found a better Mexican food place in a .25 mile radius, as there are no others. There is a cactus painting in the wall with around thirty flowers on it. The ceiling has about 130 wooden panels on it. Very wooden. Dark sea foam green blue walls, and the lights keep flickering. Around 60 tables in the restaurant. 3 tables left open when enterin. very nice restauran, peace out”

“The best BBQ food that we have ever had! Tri tip, chicken, brisket, loaded potato dish..all were delicious! We went to Bass Lake this past weekend, drove by Smokehouse 41,and thought, let's give them a try...best choice that we made...stopped again the next day for lunch. Highly recommend!”

“The Elderberry House is such a fabulous restaurant in the greater Fresno area. In less than a hour's drive, you really feel like you're transported somewhere else when you're here - the grounds are so well manicured and have the stylings of an Italian villa! You really feel like you're in a different country! The service is absolutely incredible - personalized menus with consideration for dietary restrictions, non-pretentious and accessible service, and engaging staff all make it an incredible experience! The food is the best. The BEST! Everything is presented to beautifully and the wine pairings just make everything taste that much better! If the weather is nice, it's wonderful to take your dessert out on the patio and enjoy the outdoor scenery and lights. This place is my go to when I want to feel spoiled and indulgent, with without feeling like I need to look or act a certain way to be treated well. No snobbery, just good service and great food!”

“We have been anticipating a visit and dining experience for several years. The dining room is well appointed and the service by the bar tender (before dinner drinks), sommelier, and wait staff was very engaging, attentive, and with perfect timing. I have one opinion and one disappointment. OPINION; We ordered the wine pairing for both meals ($140) and felt a full bottle of wine would have been a better choice based on the portions we received for the pairing service. DISAPPOINTMENT; At the bottom of the menu in very very small print (4pt?) was stated a 22% service charge is added. Both my wife and I missed this aspect of the menu. I have two comments on this; for a restaurant of this caliber and amount of service charge, valet parking should be offered. It was raining the night we dined and self parking was not the way we wanted to go. When the bill was delivered, there was no mention of the included 22% service charge. Not hearing this and not seeing the minuscule print at the bottom of the menu, I added a tip of 20% which was on top of the already included 22% tip. The wait person never made reference to my mistake. Had my wife not suggested for me to double check the bill, I would have left a tip of 42% on almost a $400.00 bill. You do the math. Fortunately, we found the mistake before leaving and the bill was amended as requested.”

“We visited Bee's Bakery Cafe while staying in Coarsegold and absolutely loved it! The interior was spacious, with plenty of seating, and many cool antiques. They had an entire wall of old sewing machines and an antique washing machine in the corner. The menu featured an assortment of specialty coffee drinks, which all sounded amazing. I ended up getting an Iced Raspberry Almond Latte, Avocado Toast, and Lemon Blueberry Danish. Service was friendly, but not the fastest, since the coffee shop was pretty busy. My Raspberry Almond Latte was very tasty and flavorful. I also really liked the Avocado Toast, which had a generous amount of feta cheese. The avocado wasn't really spread on the bread, but I didn't mind. The Lemon Blueberry Danish was also delicious, and my friends all loved their items as well, including the Honey Lavender Latte, Breakfast Burrito, Red Velvet Cookie, and Blackberry Danish. Overall, would recommend for the tasty food and pleasant ambiance!”

“Cutest little coffee shop with such a fun menu! Small, but they have a drive-thru and some outdoor seating! We tried the Hufflepuff, Princess Lea, and their monthly special which was topped with lucky charms - all were a bit too sweet for me but still very yummy.Also, they had the cutest pins from the Button Girl. “This place is truly a hidden gem in the mountains. We had a delicious and wonderful dinner here with a really great staff and wine! I believe Jamie was the waitress we had and they were extremely helpful and friendly. The wine was great, a lot of grape varietals I enjoy that they made into blends which was refreshing to try. We had a few shareables, all really yummy and then the ribeye as our main meal, also great. We then shared the special dessert, a fresh apple pie—so good!! They also have some house cats on the property that were very friendly and made the place feel more homely. Wish we had come earlier to do a tasting but highly suggest coming for dinner, fresh and delicious!!”

We wish we would have found this place on our first day in town because we definitely would have returned. We tried the sausage breakfast sandwich on ciabatta with Cajun sauce and it was SO good. We also tried two smoothies which were equally as good. Service was good. We were promptly greeted and told how to order. “We left the Mariposa Growe on our way to our hotel. It was already 8:30 p.m. and by chance we saw what looked like a restaurant. We stopped, took a look and decided to go in. Even though they closed in 30 minutes, they served us and were very friendly. We were the second to last to leave and we never had the feeling that they wanted us to leave. Very nice place and delicious food. A pity that it was our last night in Yosemite, we would have gladly repeated”

“Very rustic setting but also very authentic. It was clear that the local tribe was running this food stand. Nice collection of homemade salsas and jellies for sale as well.Prices are very good and the preparation is to order.Overall everything we ordered was tasty and good portion sized. The only thing missing was some salt and a lot of salsa. With all the jarred salsas for sale at the stand, I would have thought that they'd have one or two open for customers to use on their food. It needed a good dose of "zing".”
