“This place is pretty small but cute. There are not that many seats inside, and most people seem to be taking food to go. I got the tonkatsu quesadilla for $12 and it was essentially cabbage, corn, and tonkatsu, and cheese inside a tortilla(?) shell. It was an interesting item, but tasted pretty good.”

The sandwiches are awesome. I liked the shredded lettuce and a vinegar-forward mix that contrasted nicely with the meats.

The only thing that I would have liked a little different is to roll the turkey slices instead of just stacking them, that would improve the mouthfeel and texture.”

“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at this sushi place! The prices might be a little high for the amount you get, but the quality is absolutely there. As long as you keep in mind that you might need to order a little more than normal to fill up, this is an excellent place to get sushi from.

The only not-so-great thing is that the chopsticks they gave me had jagged pieces of wood coming off them, and I got a bit of a splinter, but that's okay I won't hold it against them. 😆”

“I am very unhappy with them because 3 months ago I was out of country and lost my son here, my other son and my sister got the memorial in shalizar for my son unfortunately all the invited people were complained from the food which was old khorsht had a little meet and was shredded like wormed up ten times over and the rice was old and mashie . I do not believe they charge my son $65 00 a head for only khorsht ,kabob kobedh and chicken kabob plus sald and soft drinks after the discount from $75 (.because we are old customer and my Husbend helped them at time to find place In San Mateo and all so advertised for the ) I believe they worked so hard to get were they are now they did beautiful job but not any more , every thing is not only Money I had the secand memorial for my sons in anther Iranian restaurant 190 people only $50.00 a head service and food was excellent fresh lots of food not even one complaint. “It is rare that I would give a 5-star review to a restaurant that scores 4 on the food. However, I'm giving VK an exception. Yes, restaurants are about the food, but also the overall experience and the value.

VK has recently emerged in San Mateo and we visited for breakfast. This is not your high-end fancy breakfast place. This is a down-to-earth every day local eatery type of vibe. Of course not commercial as IHOP or Denny's and definitely a step above. It also isn't an Instagram shot type of a place. It truly exists to serve hearty food. And that's what it does.

The atmosphere again is a standard eatery. Sort of a diner, sort of a vanilla look & feel. I had the Steak Omelet and instant I could feel that this wasn't your commercial grade quality. The chef had used great ingredients and cooked it with care. Seasoned well, it was tasty. The side veggies also were done right. The pancakes were not top grade but could absolutely stand its own. The only reason why I retracted a star away was because it just missed border of being "special". Great food. Great taste. Just a bit too vanilla. Oh, and one of my pancakes still had a bit of runny batter in the middle, but that's okay.

Service was great. Coffee was bold and good, considering they brew these in pots.

All of the above, at a price point that is surprisingly equal or just slightly above IHOP.

VK's is absolutely a solid addition to the neighborhood. It isn't a place you come for. It is a place you go because you can rely on it. It is a working class, every day type of spot. And they are not shy about it. Will absolutely return.

“My brother and I were in from out of town trying to decide between a few restaurants, and were both SUPER glad we chose Sushi Kuu. We each got Curry Ramen (pork and chicken katsu) and split a NewNew Roll. The roll was awesome, perfect balance of flavors. But the ramen absolutely stole the show. The curry broth was insanely delicious. I would consider flying across the country again to get a quart container of it. HIGHLY recommend this spot.”

I got the falafel container spicy ($14.20) without banana peppers and garbanzo beans, added baba ghannouj ($1.25). Everything was tasty. I'm not real into falafels but this one is probably the best quality one I've had. Crispy outside. Not dry. Sauces were not spicy at all but that's subjective. It's basically a takeout spot. Parking lots nearby are usually pretty busy. Worth a try”

“Karaoke with Ben on Thursday nights is always a blast. Good parking in front and rear, good bartenders, drinks, 2 pool tables, dart board, clean bathrooms, and a relaxed low-key dive bar feel. If you're looking for a local hideaway, then The Harbor is your refuge.

“Went to this Starbucks yesterday. Walked in to a huge crowd backed almost out the door. To my suprise, only two people behind the counter. They worked fast and hard with smiles to accommodate their customers. Customers didn't get angry as they knew this was a lot for only two employees. Impressive.”

“I love this little place. Bartenders are alway super friendly and they have a great menu with good food. It’s on a quiet street and has a cozy, cabin feel to it. And they almost always have a Russian River brew on tap.”

“Good place to get work done! Drinks come out consistent, baristas are nice and clarify drink orders to make sure they get it right. Usually there is seating available, access to outlets and WiFi. Sometimes it gets busy so the baristas can’t wipe down crumbs off tables right away, but no biggie. I like coming here more than other nearby Starbucks locations.”

“Food is fantastic! I usually order a super burrito and it has never disappointed. Meat is cooked to perfection, rice and beans are always delicious, their salsa is very spicy and very good! I'll definitely change it up next time I go, but they have been very consistent every time I go.

Service is okay, not the best, as some of the seem shy or embarrassed to talk. But not rude by any means. They at least offer chips, water, etc.
