“Healthy, tasty, good portions, fair priced. No complaints. Ordered pickup via their website and order was ready as scheduled. I got the falafel container spicy ($14.20) without banana peppers and garbanzo beans, added baba ghannouj ($1.25). Everything was tasty. I'm not real into falafels but this one is probably the best quality one I've had. Crispy outside. Not dry. Sauces were not spicy at all but that's subjective. It's basically a takeout spot. Parking lots nearby are usually pretty busy. Worth a try”

“Huge variety of sandwiches, drinks and chips to choose from. They also have salads and breakfast sandwiches.

We had the California Dreamin’ and My Cousin Vinnie on Dutch Crunch, toasted.

The sandwiches are awesome. I liked the shredded lettuce and a vinegar-forward mix that contrasted nicely with the meats.

The only thing that I would have liked a little different is to roll the turkey slices instead of just stacking them, that would improve the mouthfeel and texture.”

“I am very unhappy with them because 3 months ago I was out of country and lost my son here, my other son and my sister got the memorial in shalizar for my son unfortunately all the invited people were complained from the food which was old khorsht had a little meet and was shredded like wormed up ten times over and the rice was old and mashie . I do not believe they charge my son $65 00 a head for only khorsht ,kabob kobedh and chicken kabob plus sald and soft drinks after the discount from $75 (.because we are old customer and my Husbend helped them at time to find place In San Mateo and all so advertised for the ) I believe they worked so hard to get were they are now they did beautiful job but not any more , every thing is not only Money I had the secand memorial for my sons in anther Iranian restaurant 190 people only $50.00 a head service and food was excellent fresh lots of food not even one complaint. “This place is pretty small but cute. There are not that many seats inside, and most people seem to be taking food to go. I got the tonkatsu quesadilla for $12 and it was essentially cabbage, corn, and tonkatsu, and cheese inside a tortilla(?) shell. It was an interesting item, but tasted pretty good.”

“So give this place five stars. I also read all of the reviews. Some reviews were negative one stated food took too long but they must have been slammed, the other reviews seemed to be mired with personal issues. One guy had a seemingly decent review about the chirashi, however I found this to be amiss. One photo showed food but it must have been chewed. It was not an accurate or good review. The rice was firm but not mushy. They had a decent amount of portions on par with pricing. So in all they had great service and great food. Some of the other reviews may have been biased by competition or lack of education.

They earned my review for an order on takeout. Well put together everything was there not any headaches or bs.

“It is rare that I would give a 5-star review to a restaurant that scores 4 on the food. However, I'm giving VK an exception. Yes, restaurants are about the food, but also the overall experience and the value.

VK has recently emerged in San Mateo and we visited for breakfast. This is not your high-end fancy breakfast place. This is a down-to-earth every day local eatery type of vibe. Of course not commercial as IHOP or Denny's and definitely a step above. It also isn't an Instagram shot type of a place. It truly exists to serve hearty food. And that's what it does.

The atmosphere again is a standard eatery. Sort of a diner, sort of a vanilla look & feel. I had the Steak Omelet and instant I could feel that this wasn't your commercial grade quality. The chef had used great ingredients and cooked it with care. Seasoned well, it was tasty. The side veggies also were done right. The pancakes were not top grade but could absolutely stand its own. The only reason why I retracted a star away was because it just missed border of being "special". Great food. Great taste. Just a bit too vanilla. Oh, and one of my pancakes still had a bit of runny batter in the middle, but that's okay.

Service was great. Coffee was bold and good, considering they brew these in pots.

All of the above, at a price point that is surprisingly equal or just slightly above IHOP.

VK's is absolutely a solid addition to the neighborhood. It isn't a place you come for. It is a place you go because you can rely on it. It is a working class, every day type of spot. And they are not shy about it. Will absolutely return.

“My brother and I were in from out of town trying to decide between a few restaurants, and were both SUPER glad we chose Sushi Kuu. We each got Curry Ramen (pork and chicken katsu) and split a NewNew Roll. The roll was awesome, perfect balance of flavors. But the ramen absolutely stole the show. The curry broth was insanely delicious. I would consider flying across the country again to get a quart container of it. HIGHLY recommend this spot.”

“Good place to get work done! Drinks come out consistent, baristas are nice and clarify drink orders to make sure they get it right. Usually there is seating available, access to outlets and WiFi. Sometimes it gets busy so the baristas can’t wipe down crumbs off tables right away, but no biggie. I like coming here more than other nearby Starbucks locations.”

Service is okay, not the best, as some of the seem shy or embarrassed to talk. But not rude by any means. They at least offer chips, water, etc.
