“This is a takeout only place and their falafels are VERY GOOD! The fries and hummus were just okay. I ordered Heaven's Pita Pocket and it was HEAVENLY, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! So savory for a vegetarian dish. Great texture that melded well with the sauces in this Pita Pocket. The Home Made Fries were okay and the Hummus was okay, maybe ⭐⭐⭐. I'd recommend coming for the Falafels and will be returning just for that!”

I got the tonkatsu quesadilla for $12 and it was essentially cabbage, corn, and tonkatsu, and cheese inside a tortilla(?) shell. It was an interesting item, but tasted pretty good.”

“I am very unhappy with them because 3 months ago I was out of country and lost my son here, my other son and my sister got the memorial in shalizar for my son unfortunately all the invited people were complained from the food which was old khorsht had a little meet and was shredded like wormed up ten times over and the rice was old and mashie . “Our band, Drini & the Bad Kats Band, played at the venue for the first time last night. The entire staff, patrons and owner were great. Our friends loved the venue as well. I’ve been for Karaoke Nights several times and have always had a blast as well. The drinks are strong and delicious, just like I like em. Lots of space to move around too. 🤗🎤🎉”

“Went here several times over the 5yrs when we’re in the area. It sort of hit or miss for us, since it was great at the beginning…great service, great foods, great vibe to whatever service, still great foods, and just cool vibe. This time, it’s just okey overall. Plenty of parking and good location since it nearby or next to several hotels & motels. We got seated right away, and easy order with a nice waiter since we knew what we wanted, since then he only stoped by to drop off the foods and then gave us the check. No check in between. The place is big layout and simple decor. It reminds me of diner setting like. The foods are hot and good and very tasty, especially the blueberry coffee cake (we alway order this everytime we’re here). Price wise, it’s high but worth it - for us, it Is a good place for breakfast and will continue stop by whenever we’re in the area so sure.”

“So give this place five stars. I also read all of the reviews. Some reviews were negative one stated food took too long but they must have been slammed, the other reviews seemed to be mired with personal issues. One guy had a seemingly decent review about the chirashi, however I found this to be amiss. One photo showed food but it must have been chewed. It was not an accurate or good review. The rice was firm but not mushy. They had a decent amount of portions on par with pricing. So in all they had great service and great food. Some of the other reviews may have been biased by competition or lack of education.

They earned my review for an order on takeout. Well put together everything was there not any headaches or bs.

“It is rare that I would give a 5-star review to a restaurant that scores 4 on the food. However, I'm giving VK an exception. Yes, restaurants are about the food, but also the overall experience and the value.

VK has recently emerged in San Mateo and we visited for breakfast. This is not your high-end fancy breakfast place. This is a down-to-earth every day local eatery type of vibe. Of course not commercial as IHOP or Denny's and definitely a step above. It also isn't an Instagram shot type of a place. It truly exists to serve hearty food. And that's what it does.

The atmosphere again is a standard eatery. Sort of a diner, sort of a vanilla look & feel. I had the Steak Omelet and instant I could feel that this wasn't your commercial grade quality. The chef had used great ingredients and cooked it with care. Seasoned well, it was tasty. The side veggies also were done right. The pancakes were not top grade but could absolutely stand its own. The only reason why I retracted a star away was because it just missed border of being "special". Great food. Great taste. Just a bit too vanilla. Oh, and one of my pancakes still had a bit of runny batter in the middle, but that's okay.

Service was great. Coffee was bold and good, considering they brew these in pots.

All of the above, at a price point that is surprisingly equal or just slightly above IHOP.

VK's is absolutely a solid addition to the neighborhood. It isn't a place you come for. It is a place you go because you can rely on it. It is a working class, every day type of spot. And they are not shy about it. Will absolutely return.

“My brother and I were in from out of town trying to decide between a few restaurants, and were both SUPER glad we chose Sushi Kuu. We each got Curry Ramen (pork and chicken katsu) and split a NewNew Roll. The roll was awesome, perfect balance of flavors. But the ramen absolutely stole the show. The curry broth was insanely delicious. I would consider flying across the country again to get a quart container of it. HIGHLY recommend this spot.”

The carne asada was really good, and so too was the pollo asado - the super size burritos were substantial and the crew was stuffed - no seconds needed.
The chips were fresh.
The Coyote crew put the to-go order together very quickly, and we're friendly and courteous.

“Good place to get work done! Drinks come out consistent, baristas are nice and clarify drink orders to make sure they get it right. Usually there is seating available, access to outlets and WiFi. Sometimes it gets busy so the baristas can’t wipe down crumbs off tables right away, but no biggie. I like coming here more than other nearby Starbucks locations.”

“Food is fantastic! I usually order a super burrito and it has never disappointed. Meat is cooked to perfection, rice and beans are always delicious, their salsa is very spicy and very good! I'll definitely change it up next time I go, but they have been very consistent every time I go.

Service is okay, not the best, as some of the seem shy or embarrassed to talk. But not rude by any means. They at least offer chips, water, etc.
