“The atmosphere was was nice. They had amazing cocktails, however, there was only one bar tender which meant the drinks took a LONG time to come out, we were almost done eating before we got them :-(. It's never acceptable to get your food before your cocktails (let alone be almost done). The staff should have either held the food, or prioritized our cocktails since we were ordering food. I would go back, but hope that management will review this and make the appropriate changes. At a minimum, we should have been acknowledged that our drinks were slow.“

“I stumbled upon this and so was rather to try it out, given the high reviews it had. And I'm glad to see that I was not disappointed. The samosas and potato pakoras were absolutely delicious. I'd had this at another restaurant and the difference was so obvious. This was fresher, more decadent, truly loved it. We then had the mixed kabob platter and I loved that they were willing to substitute the shrimp for salmon. It truly was a tasty mix of food, and the portions were actually good enough for two people. If more than two, then that would not be the best option. Dave was also amazing, and worked on meeting my special request. I loved that he wasn't upset about it and even came over to check to see how it was. The level of customer service he showed plus the other waitstaff was very welcome. I certainly would come back here again for sure, and would recommend it to others.“

“Authentic Afghan cuisine. Try their chapli kabobs. Perfect blend of spices, beef and texture. One of the best I have tasted in the US. Comes with a generous portion of rice, bread and side salad. Also give their Bolani a try. Excellent quailty. Owner is very gentleman.“

“It was truly a great place to sit and eat at. The food was amazing and delicious. I recommend this restaurant and will be going back. However, there is always room for improvement, the owners family or friends were sitting in the restaurant and was sometimes noisy with kids running around and mess with toys. Beside that it was all good.“

“I just came to this restaurant for lunch and everything was amazing! The food was so delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. What made the experience even better was the customer service. As soon as I walked in, they welcomed me so warmly and made me feel comfortable right away. They were very kind and kept asking if I needed anything, saying they were there to help. It’s rare to find both great food and such excellent hospitality together. Highly recommend this place, and I will definitely come back again!“

“East Bay Express has an article about this place! Excellent Afghan cuisine in the heart of Oakland. THE BEST Mantu I have ever had ( home made). Must try the Chami kebab plate!!! The spicy and savory sauces add to a perfect meal. Family friendly and has an authentic Afghan seating area as well. The owner was so kind and the server provided great service.
