Best Japanese Curry in town !
Second visit and made a special side trip while picking up someone at SFO. Lots of students were around and they were doing lots of take out service.
Honestly was a little disappointed compared to first visit. The curry was still very good but didn’t hit as well as the first time. Ordered the pork katsu curry (highly recommend) and took a seat at the counter.

Food was AMAZING!!! This was a delivery. There was traffic but it was still late. Atleast the delivery person communicated well that it like be late. But I ordered it about 2-3 hours ahead of time.

Based on customer reviews, Nippon Curry Berkeley is a comfortable, streamline, and shiny eatery. It is a fast food restaurant with long diner-like counters. The space is big enough and the environment is straightforward. Ordering is easy to do on a machine and payment can be made with a credit card. The process is very quick, and orders come quickly for both dine-in and takeout.
The staff is pleasant and provides nice, straightforward service. One cashier spoke fluent English, kept smiling, and was helpful with recommendations, stating what they personally liked and which dish was the most popular. The Takatsu pork chop is delicious. The meal comes with a small side of pickled veggies and plenty of rice. There is enough curry to cover about 85% of the rice, but they charge for more. Customers find the experience excellent and state they will be back.
