“I've stopped for dinner here a few times on the way back from Yosemite. The vibe of the place is classic and the patio at sunset is very nice. The menu has a surprising amount of vegetarian options for this kind of classic American restaurant, and the portions are generous. That said, the food is good but not great, and it comes out pretty slowly so bring a jacket.”
“Love this place! They have amazing in house made ice cream with so many amazing flavors! They also have a great selection of local products, clothes, and so much more!”
“The outside may not look impressive, but inside the staff, service, and food are fabulous! Brandon is a marvelous host, and the menu is inviting. I will return!”
“we were heading back to San Francisco from Yosemite and were craving some good pizza. Two guys did not disappoint! we grew up in NY state where there is plenty of good pizza options but this place doesn't even compare. It's California style pizza, the dough and crust is probably the best I've ever had. I'm not sure how you can load it with toppings and still get it crispy... but somehow they do. what a special treat, so glad we found this place”
“Drove to groveland after reading reviews, glad we did, wife bought local eggs, I had a pastrami sandwich. Great staff and selection of meats (frozen and fresh). Left with a feeling of happy small town life.”
“Always come in here before Roller hockey, and it's always been super friendly staff, a great interior with pool tables and new TVs. The prices are very reasonable and a great selection of draft beers and booze.”
“My family and I ate dinner here twice when we stayed at the hotel next-door during our Yosemite visit. Food was fresh, well prepared and tasted great. Friendly service. I recommend!”
“Best BBQ!! Live near Modesto, CA and we drive all the way up the hill just to have Stan's Que. Amazing, so soft and flavorful. It's truly the best. He has some homemade sides as well that are so good.”
“Great coffee I have been drinking breakfast blend for years. But recently the last few bags I’ve got taste different I’m wondering if they’ve switched the beans or is roasting it different ? It’s not as light of a roast anymore. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem ?”
“Members of Oakland Hog motorcycle group Want to thank the staff here at Covers Apple Ranch, for accommodating 21 of us on a 1 1/2 hour notice. Thank you for setting up your outside dining for us. we filled up all 5 tables. Good food, atmosphere. Rode all the way up from Oakland, to have lunch at your place. Will see you again.”
“My Husband Roy and I were in Groveland on vacation and we looked up dog friendly restaurants and Around the Horn came up very highly recommended. We ate outside in a very pleasant patio area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I got a chilly bread bowl and Roy ordered the chicken tacos and one of the local beers. Everything was delicious and they even gave the doggos treats”
“My first experience here when it was brand new wasn't fantastic . Looking for food, saw good rating and 3 ribs for a reasonable price. When I got there and ordered 2, the owner offered the same price for 1/2 rack. Tasty with dry rub and sauce on the side. They have brocoli for dinner and made me a side for lunch .”
“We had a great dinner at the Charlotte of chicken and meatloaf and tacos and it was really wonderful and Finn is just a great host and he showed us some of the rooms that they have there in the hotel, which are just darling, really nice rooms well appointed bathrooms with each room , very very nice hotel and reasonably priced. I would recommend it to anybody who was coming up to Groveland for both food and rooms.”
“Stopped here whole cruising around the hills on a drive. Husband and I shared an XL Frappe & amd it was delicious:) However, we did get in the wrong line and it took forever!”
“Cool and Cozy Coffee joint. If you're looking for a pick me up, or a little refuge up or down from your drive, this is it. Authentic, organic, comfortable, good.”
“Great spot, excellent coffee. Happy the cafe in the casino was closed. I’ve stopped at many coffee shops on my cross-country tour and this is the first that gave me a flat white in an actual cup and saucer. Nice. And the bacon burrito was amazing. A little pricey, but that’s due to inflation I’ll wager. And in this particular part of the world where it’s hard to find good help I was treated really well.Hope this place stays, it’s a gem.”
“This spot is awesome. Beautiful views. The food is delicious. Pork chop is outstanding. My husband ordered the salmon, which he loved, but he kept asking me for a bite of my pork chop LOL. One of the best I've ever had. Keep thinking about it. Spinach salad was so good. Everything as great. Oh, did I mention there is a golf course!!”
“Get surprised by the shrimp cocktail. But only order more food, if really hungry. It's enough for a very satisfying meal. We prefer this restaurant over their other Sonora and Groveland restaurants.”
“My family ate here on our way back home, after a day of playing in the snow. The menu had something for all of us and my pizza alone was amazing. Even the crust was delicious that I kept wanting more of my Pesto California. I will definitely eat here again!”
“We ordered pick up for a cozy evening in after a long day of sight seeing. The staff was very friendly, and the food was good. The carne asada, and the nachos were our favorites, I personally think you can skip the churros.”
“Love their food but I especially love the hot turkey with mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables. So so good every time and the servers are so friendly. Very clean restaurant, my favorite place to eat in Sonora.”
“The food is really amazing. By far the BEST tasting food I have found in a long time. Absolutely amazing. A definite must try. If you haven't eaten here yet you really should.”
“The kids enjoyed their burgers and my wife enjoyed her chicken masala and her Chardonnay. My burger was cooked a bit too much for my taste but it was good enough.”
“It's my hometown bar, great service, everyone knows everyone, always a good time, good drinks, weekly events, pool table moral of the loggers it's a great small town bar that even a city slicker would like!”
“We got sandwiches and shakes. Everything tasted great, 20-25 minutes pick up order.Apparently they are looking to revamp the area for slab ice cream, which would be awesome. We'll be back regardless.Kid-friendliness: Right next to the Game Room”
“I get burgers here all the time for dinner. Grill is open until 7pm. Fries are delicious. My family laughs all the time at the fact that my favorite burger place in the Tuolumne area is in a gas station. Definitely a hidden gem.”
“The restaurant was beautiful with such a nice views. It’s a very fancy and great for dinner dates. Our order took so long (45 mins+), other people that came after us got their food, ate, and left already, a bit disappointed. Other than that the the food was fabulous and delicious!”
“Coffee was great and absolutely love the cinnamon roll! Have it heated up and it's just so heavenly. Prolly the best cinnamon roll I've had in my life! Service staff were friendly too!”
“This place is a gem. We tried a couple of restaurants in the area and this was a place we came back to at the request of our first grader. My husband and I loved it too. The home fries, hashbrowns, bacon and corned beef are delicious. My son loved that he could order a grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast. The service was great and the people who run the place are kind, friendly and lovely. Don't hesitate. This place is great!!”
“Premium Pesto on wheat (no sprouts) was one of the best deli sandwiches I've ever had...at least for grab and go car food. We stopped there on our way through Tioga Pass. Quick and friendly, made to order, and decently priced! The bread (untoasted by choice) was tasty with had good structural integrity, which is important for eating in the car. Stopped back by on our way back for the same. This is my road food joint on 120 from now on.”
