We actually didn’t stay in the hotel. We ate in the restaurant which is always amazing. They have a roaring fire in the fireplace going always. Service is great. It’s the perfect way to kick off a day of hiking in nearby PFEIFFER state park or to head back towards Monterey and stop at Point Lobos. This is our GO TO place!Noteworthy details: Beautiful unique plants. Adirondacks in the River.
Just home from a girls' week down the coast to Big Sur. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner in Carmel who recommended this restaurant. So we stopped and had lunch along our extremely picturesque drive. We sat out a downpour in the very cozy dining room where we had great service and a delicious lunch. Food & drinks: Well, the Angus rib eye steak was great bar none. It was the roasted chicken. i ordered it and immediately i could not stomach the taste. The waitress was wonderful, but i felt that the waitress saw that the chicken was still whole and knew i could not stomach it. It just tasted like chicken and it needed more herbs.
