“Red Chickz’ chicken sandwich is amazing. The seasoning is habit worthy. Sooo tasty! The chicken, the fries, the cheese curds - everything is delicious. Even the cauliflower bites have the seasoning on it. I get the ‘Cool’ style - which basically means all the seasoning but no heat. But that’s just me. It’s amazing.

The owner, Mike, is super friendly. I see him come out to talk to people all the time. He spoke with my husband and I for quite a bit. I’m so impressed at the ingredients he uses and the care he takes in hiring certain employees and then how he treats them. He seems very conscientious.

“We are tourists visiting the area and made reservations for this restaurant for 5:30 on 3/24/26. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:26 and after we checked in with the young lady at the front desk, were told we were too early to sit at our table and that we could either go to the bar or sit outside until she would come and get us, really?? At 5:33 our phone buzzed and someone other than the hostess came and got us, taking us to a table but not the high top we had reserved. The restaurant was maybe a 1/4 full when we arrived and only one of the high top tables had customers. We were disappointed with how we were treated by this young lady, made us feel like we were unimportant to your company. Disappointed that we didn’t get to sit where we made the reservation also. We had great service and food once we were seated.“

“The ice cream is delicious. Very good portion sizes and taste to of amazing quality. There are options for all sorts of people with allergies, gluten intolerance, etc. the staff can make some mistakes but that hardly makes a scratch on the experience. Overall I recommend to everyone, even dogs (see: frosty paw)! Enjoy your stay at this amazing ice cream shop“

He’s quick, friendly, remembers what we like and brings us what we need without asking. This location is always clean, quick and has some of the best staff. When given the option this is where we pick to go.“

“I had an absolutely delicious iced matcha latte at Blue Mug yesterday. The matcha flavor was superb and it was perfect for the heat wave. The bathroom was clean, and the staff was friendly. It was very nice inside and a great place to grab coffee, a pastry, or a sandwich. I cannot wait to go back.“

“Smallish restaurant with tiny parking lot of about 10 spots shared between 3 businesses. Like the roll up garage door windows, lots of outdoor picnic bench seating under shade canopies (which we couldn't use on this rainy day). Beer selection is pretty good, we had the meat lovers 12 inch pizza and liked the thin crispy crust, a bit skimpy on the toppings but tasty enough.

Parking: I think 10 spots between 3 (?) businesses in this very small strip mini mall.“

“The tacos are so delicious, we had to go back and order more. The corn tortilla was nice and soft. Other places they're hard. And the meat was also soft. I've also never had a mushroom taco but tried one and it was also good. It was simple but grilled just right.“

“We tried taste of the Himalayas for dinner and were extremely impressed. We are vegetarian, and this restaurant has a complete vegetarian section to choose from, which is rare. We enjoyed the vegetable tandoori, paneer tikka masala, and the navaratan korma (vegetable coconut curry), plus an order of 4 garlic naan peices. All dishes came with biryani rice. Everything was delicious!

The vegetables in the tandoori were perfectly charred, yet still tender crisp. They included large peices of eggplant, zucchini, red and green pepper, cabbage, paneer, broccoli and cauliflower. We ordered two sides of spicy sauces to go with the veggies. We ordered the korma coconut curry mind for my 9-year-old son, and he loved it over rice. The paneer tikka masala was also delicious. We ordered it with medium spice and it was perfectly prominent in every bite. It was extremely flavorful. Since it was raining off and on, the chiya tea we ordered with milk and spices really hit the spot. It was so delicious and well balanced.

This was honestly one of the best Indian/Himalayan meals we have ever had, and as vegetarians, we've had plenty! The service was extraordinary, with detailed guidance on the menu, spice levels and options for kids. I accidentally dropped my knife on the floor, and without asking anyone, our server brought me a clean knife. Who does that?!!! That's is a must try for Indian/Himalayan food in the Carlsbad area.“
