“What an incredible find! We had the pizza last night and then talking to the owner found out they have breakfast as well. And what a breakfast! An amazing chili relleno quiche, fresh tangerine juice, and a fantastic cappuccino!! This is definitely going to be our go-to spot every time we come to the desert. Don’t miss this place!!”

“Our Casita is roomy and has its own pool! short walk to the Fox bar and restaurant. the dinner specials are very good & reasonably priced. only draw back is the lack of USB ports. we will be back !”

“Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! I got the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans- incredibly tasty and fresh! Unfortunately one of the dishes was so burnt we had to return it:( The drinks were delicious, especially the mango margarita! If you’re looking for a delicious quick meal in borrego I’d recommend :)”

“Good grief! I have been coming to Borrego for over 30 years and somehow Los Jilbertos escaped my notice. We live in Oceanside, not lacking good Mexican food but wow! Los Jilbertos has the right recipe for very delicious food. My son and I are thunderstruck by the quality. It is clear that care and effort goes into this offering. We did not need more reason to come to Borrego but you have added one. Such good food. Chef’s kiss!”

“History of this amazing place warrants a beautiful entry while walking into the lobby and dining area. Missing . A tale and story board of the history, telling of the souls who walked prior who had a part in shaping that story. Perhaps historic pictures on the walls. All of that is missing. This resort deserves its story be told and rich history appreciated. 2024 Historical Site was noted.”

“The Chicken Fried steak was delicious. Somehow, the cook manages to make the "plain" potato wedges taste utterly gourmet. It's one of the most satisfying meals I've had in a very long time. I'd smelled their very enticing grilled hamburgers from outside before, and was hoping to order one, but it was too early - breakfast menu only. I ended up being super glad, as my meal was perfect. Service was especially friendly and responsive. One odd thing happened - we got a carafe of cold water and the last glass, ie from the bottom, delivered a really strong taste of chlorine. It was a hot day and I was eating the ice as well as drinking the water; don't know if it was in an ice cube or the water itself. Couldn't get the chlorine taste out of my throat for two days. This is just FYI... I still left enthused, and hope to return soon.”
