“First time I ever tried this spot was in Newport Beach. I was so excited when they opened one in Brea- near my home. Great food and worth stopping by. Only negative I have to say is that ordering pick up is the same as ordering in. They don't have a separate online order pick up line. This place gets busy so it's extremely annoying to have to wait in line behind families when all you want to do is get your food before its cold.“
“This place is a little more upscale than a hole in the wall taqueria. First thing that caught our eye was you can order top sirloin on your meats. I ordered a top sirloin asada taco and a carnitas taco. The asada taco was great, but the carnitas taco was just average. Both had guac included and the guac was good. I also ordered a side of beans since I enjoy a bean and cheese burrito from time to time and wanted to taste them in case I came back. They were very good and came with cheese on top. My husband had the asada nachos too sirloin. They were huge and for him were a 5. There were three salsas the orange one was super hot even for my husband who can take spice. This place is about 20mins out of the way for us, but we definitely will be coming back.Vegetarian options: Items can be ordered without meat, ie beans, cheese, rice, guac, tortillas, chips, fries“
“The best Mexican food we've found in the area. I'm from San Antonio and my wife is from East L.A. So, no strangers to authentic Mexican food.We have lived in the Diamond Bar/Walnut area for 40-years. We've eaten at De Oro many times, tried many different menu items, and we have never been disappointed.I realize people have different tastes in food, different expectations, and different experiences when dining out. I feel bad for the folks who had a disappointing experience at De Oro.The staff is always friendly towards us and if they are busy and running slow, they apologize to us and bring us more tortilla chips. We know if there are a lot of customers or if they have a lot of to-go orders, it's going to take more time than usual. We are old and retired, but not everyone has the time or patience to wait and they leave a negative review. We have tried many Mexican restaurants in the area. I won't mention the ones we didn't like because, it's a matter of personal taste.Xavi's in Chino Hills was my favorite, but I haven't eaten there since before the pandemic. I expect they are still great. Pepe's in Hacienda Heights, The Durango in Brea (they didn't survive the 2020 shut down), the big Juancho's restaurant in Ontario (I don't know if they are still there), the small Juancho's cafe in Chino Hills is good for a quick take-out (they used to be better before Covid and they had to remove the "help yourself" bean pot), The Whole Enchilada in Diamond Bar before the demographics changed causing them to shut down, and Kalaveras. I can't be sure if it's the food I like or the atmosphere. I always have fun no matter which one I eat at, but I particularly like the small hole-in-the-wall one in Montebello. If anyone knows a better place in the area for Mexican food, I'd like to know.“
“Atmosphere is cute and clean. The food is a bit bland and didn't meet my expectations but I'm glad I at least tried the food. I wouldn't recommend coming here but it's always good to try new places. So just don't come in expecting the best tasting food.“
“This is one of my favorite places. I now have to travel 70 miles to get my favorite Roasted Tomato Soup. The hand made tortillas with honey butter?. And I can’t forget that they have my favorite tropical tea. I hope they never close as they have done to the Grills closer to me.“
“Simply the best!!! We've been going here for over 40 years and it has never disappointed. My wife loves the Baja Tacos and I always get the Rueben's Special with beans. It is good and hot and always taste amazing. They also have the best chips and salsa around. Highly recommended.“
“Food is solid I'd say. Issue is, this is the only Mexican restaurant in my whole life that chargers for "complimentary" chips and salsa. No refill on chips or sala for free, no refills on drinks, they charge for everything. Food is good, but the way they charge for everything is absurd. I don't understand, unless they don't get a lot of business. For this, I give overall 3 stars, but 4 stars for food flavor.“
“The food was good. They had pineapple cream soda very good. I got the 3 pack combo with shredded beef and mild sauce. Was excellent the sauce hit perfectly. I got lucky they were training on make nachos so they gave us a free sample they were awesome. The staff was very friendly.“
“I met with a friend who knows the owner of this place. The food was freakin delicious. I'm from Texas, and I've had some pretty amazing Mexican food, so honestly, I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The food portions were good-sized. I'll definitely be going back when I'm back in the area.“
“My family and I came here for a cousin's birthday dinner. The atmosphere was loud because there was music playing, there was a UFC fight on, and the customers were having conversations. Their menu is huge and there are so many great food and drink options. I definitely have to go back to try some more items. Their brunch menu looks amazing as well and I can't wait to try that. We tried the Birria Tacos, the Birria Dirty Fries, the Wet Burrito, and the Pomegranate Margarita.“
“This place gives the best customer service and delicious food every time I stop by. I moved around the area less than 6 months ago, and this is my favorite and go-to Mexican food spot. Highly recommend to satisfy that craving for authentic Mexican food“
“This is also a store that makes you feel like you're in America.A lot of tortillas come. The avocado dip was very delicious.I'm not a fan of watermelon cocktails, but it was interesting.I ordered grilled salmon for my main dish.It was delicious and just the right amount!“
