“Chubby Sushi in Brea has a great interior decor and vibrant atmosphere. The fish was overall very fresh and decent quality! We tried the Chubby Roll, Chubby Angel Roll, Chubby Sashimi, and fresh oysters—all of which were solid choices.
​A couple of minor downsides to our visit: we specifically came to try the Bluefin Tuna Lover, but unfortunately, they were out. Also, our server brought out fresh wasabi without mentioning it carries an additional $4 charge each, which felt a bit misleading on the bill.“

“This restaurant is located in a shopping plaza at the corner of Birch Street and Kraemer Blvd in Brea. Parking was easy on a Monday evening. We did not need reservations and were seated promptly on arrival as it was pretty empty. The service was overall good. Our waiter checked in on us multiple times and was attentive. The complimentary bread and garlic butter was great, but the rest of the food was fine, honestly nothing special. Our pastas were on the oilier side and salty, but the portion sizes are huge.“

“As someone who is particular about Thai food, Thai Seven in Downtown Brea genuinely impressed me. This is one of those hidden gems where you can immediately tell there is real attention being paid to the kitchen.

The first thing that stood out was the aroma—the unmistakable fragrance of a properly fired wok, with that smoky depth that gives Thai cooking so much character. The Spaghetti Kee Mao was exceptional: aromatic, savory, beautifully seasoned, and full of wok-fired flavor without being overwhelmed by sauce. The popcorn chicken arrived golden and remarkably crisp, yet remained tender and juicy inside.

The biggest surprise was the Crying Tiger beef. It was beautifully grilled, tender, flavorful, and easily comparable to something I would expect from a quality steakhouse. The execution was excellent.

Beyond the food, the service was attentive and welcoming. Owner Nova personally made us feel at home, adding the kind of genuine hospitality that separates a good restaurant from a memorable one.

Thai Seven isn’t trying to reinvent Thai cuisine—it simply executes it extremely well. Authentic flavors, proper wok cooking, quality ingredients, and genuine hospitality. “This is a surprisingly nice restaurant inside Nordstrom's. The server was excellent. We were not rushed but he appeared the moment we needed something. The food was very good. I have had the burger and another time, the fried chicken sandwich. My friends had the salad nicoise which was delicious and filling. For the evening, the cocktails are good as well. The window seating is lovely since until the weather is warm enough for their terrace seating. Take the elevator to the 5th floor, and you won't be tempted by the January sales.“

I got the small bowl. Just the teriyaki chicken and rice. They give you a lot of chicken and big pieces too. They also have extra teriyaki sauce and hot sauce. Ohh and they have free fountain drinks between 2-4 pm. My order was to go. Love this spot.“

The bun also had some soggy parts and I was sort of hoping it'd have leaf lettuce, rather than shredded.

Also, one of the reasons I like the place, is because they serve Pepsi drinks, which means MUG root beer - a drink I've been needing to have lately, since its been helping with my kidney health. But I was told that they had none, so that was a turn off.

A little dry, NO eggs, maybe 6 single peas and 3 small bites of carrots. Where are the vegetable that are usually there? Do you have a new cook? It was so bad we thought it was a different rice. The rest of the food was good. If it was our first time we probably would never order the chicken fried rice again. I gave 4 stars because historically the food is typically good. If I could, one star for the rice.“

“The food was amazing. My favorite was the cucumber in garlic sauce. So refreshing for a hot cali day. We also had the juicy pork and crab dumplings, house noodles which have baby bok choy, shrimp and beef in them. Delicious. Pork and cabbage steam dumplings were also fantastic. Sesame balls with red bean paste topped ot off for a savory sweet ending. Ended with hot tea. Definitely recommended. The atmosphere is calming and pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.“
