I ordered the three roll special. I had the shrimp, pork sausage, and bulgogi beef. The shrimp roll was as expected, light, fresh, and tasty. The sausage was the best. It had the best flavor and really stood out. The beef was dry, okay flavor-wise, but oh so dry. Each roll had lettuce, shredded carrot, cilantro, cucumbers, mint, and garlic chives. These added crunch, texture, and a freshness that really was nice.

“This restaurant is located in a shopping plaza at the corner of Birch Street and Kraemer Blvd in Brea. Parking was easy on a Monday evening. We did not need reservations and were seated promptly on arrival as it was pretty empty. The service was overall good. Our waiter checked in on us multiple times and was attentive. The complimentary bread and garlic butter was great, but the rest of the food was fine, honestly nothing special. Our pastas were on the oilier side and salty, but the portion sizes are huge.“

The Spaghetti Kee Mao was exceptional: aromatic, savory, beautifully seasoned, and full of wok-fired flavor without being overwhelmed by sauce. The biggest surprise was the Crying Tiger beef. It was beautifully grilled, tender, flavorful, and easily comparable to something I would expect from a quality steakhouse. The execution was excellent.

“This is a surprisingly nice restaurant inside Nordstrom's. The server was excellent. We were not rushed but he appeared the moment we needed something. The food was very good. I have had the burger and another time, the fried chicken sandwich. My friends had the salad nicoise which was delicious and filling. For the evening, the cocktails are good as well. The window seating is lovely since until the weather is warm enough for their terrace seating. Take the elevator to the 5th floor, and you won't be tempted by the January sales.“

I got the small bowl. Just the teriyaki chicken and rice. They give you a lot of chicken and big pieces too. They also have extra teriyaki sauce and hot sauce. Ohh and they have free fountain drinks between 2-4 pm. My order was to go. Love this spot.“

We also had the juicy pork and crab dumplings, house noodles which have baby bok choy, shrimp and beef in them. Delicious. Pork and cabbage steam dumplings were also fantastic. “I usually enjoy the meals I have here, but yesterday I ordered a hamburger with mayonnaise and mustard. What I got instead was a hamburger with lots of ketchup - no mayonnaise or mustard in sight. The bun also had some soggy parts and I was sort of hoping it'd have leaf lettuce, rather than shredded.

Also, one of the reasons I like the place, is because they serve Pepsi drinks, which means MUG root beer - a drink I've been needing to have lately, since its been helping with my kidney health. But I was told that they had none, so that was a turn off.

The fries were fine though, and I did appreciate that they gave me a generous portion of ketchup, in a plastic cup, for them.“

“The food is usually always good. We really like the chicken fried rice. BUT tonight we got 2 orders of the chicken fried rice and it is tasteless. Terrible. A little dry, NO eggs, maybe 6 single peas and 3 small bites of carrots. Where are the vegetable that are usually there? Do you have a new cook? It was so bad we thought it was a different rice. The rest of the food was good. If it was our first time we probably would never order the chicken fried rice again. I gave 4 stars because historically the food is typically good. We ordered the sukiyaki udon, tonkotsu ramen, a salmon avocado roll, and an eel roll. The udon was warm and comforting with tender beef, and the ramen broth was rich without being too heavy. The sushi was fresh, and the salmon was especially good.

I was dining with my son, and he finished almost his entire bento box with yakisoba and a California roll, which rarely happens since he’s a picky eater! That alone made the visit worth it.
