“This year we chose Black Bear diner for the location of our annual Chrispen Team Pumpkin Pie giveaway, and we couldn't have been more impressed. The manager Isaid was amazing from the start helping me plan the event and order hundreds of pies. The large patio provided a private and cheerful atmosphere and was the perfect spot for the event. Carlos and the rest of the staff were amazingly attentive and handled everything we needed on the day of the event. We originally purchased the Royalty Package but decided to upgrade to the Celebration Package once we arrived. Our party of 9 took up an entire row, and depending on your group size, you could easily fit around 10 people in one row.

My nephew and I had the vegetarian meal while everyone else had the chicken dinner. The kids ate what they wanted (because, well… kids 😂), and the adults all told me they enjoyed their meals. Personally, I really enjoyed the vegetarian meal—it was surprisingly filling!

But honestly, the food wasn’t even the highlight. The show itself was unforgettable. Even the Blue Knight threw a flower to my 4-year-old daughter, which absolutely made her entire night. She was so shy when she got to see him up close after the show, and it was honestly one of the sweetest moments of the whole trip. The three boys in our group were completely engrossed in the show too—they only wanted to leave when someone needed to use the bathroom! 😂

I also purchased the souvenir slushie cups for the four kids in our group because… why not? 😂 This was the first time going to Medieval Times for five of us, and we decided to splurge a little on our last night in Southern California.

Yes, you may look at the ticket and package prices and think, “Wow, that’s a lot of money for a two-hour show.” But for us, it was worth every penny.

Of course, I had read the reviews about the food and everything else before going. At the end of the day, everyone is different, and what one person loves, another person may not. For our family, though, the entire experience was absolutely worth it.

I’m not sure when we’ll be back in Southern California, but when we are, Medieval Times will definitely be on our list of places to visit again. Ending our trip there was the perfect way to finish our time in SoCal. 🏰❤“

“Usually I save TikTok videos of restaurants I wanna try when I travel to LA but we were starving when we got out of the source oc plaza and just randomly searched a ramen place nearby. This was the place nearest to us that the ramen pics looked appealing. I have to say the ramen here was amazing. It tasted almost the same to the ramen we tried in our trip to Tokyo. And our server was so nice and attentive. He was so sweet that he gave our mom her drink for free since she wasn’t going to consume food due to not liking ramen but she was accompanying us. Found this place by accident but i have now marked it as a favorite and will definitely go back!“

“Han Yang is good. It’s also wonderfully old school. Nothing about the place feels particularly interested in being redesigned for Instagram, which I appreciate. You come here for Korean comfort food, metal dishes of banchan, enormous bowls of soup and stone pots hot enough to continue cooking your dinner while you eat it. And that stone pot is where I’d start.

The gondre dolsot bibimbap was fantastic. Gondre is Korean thistle and here it gets worked through the rice with the egg, seaweed and everything else until the whole thing becomes earthy, savory and deeply satisfying. But the best part comes underneath. Leave it alone long enough and the rice against the stone develops that beautiful scorched crust, nurungji, which you eventually scrape loose and mix back through everything.

That combination of the greens, sesame, egg and crispy rice is ridiculously good. There are dishes you finish because you’re hungry and dishes where you keep digging around the bottom of the bowl because you’re convinced there must be another good piece hiding somewhere. This was the latter.

The galbitang was more complicated for me. The beef itself was excellent. Generous pieces, tender, falling easily from the bone and soft enough that our kids loved it. Plenty of green onion, too. My issue was the broth. I prefer galbitang on the restrained side so I can decide where it goes from there. Same reason I like seolleongtang arriving almost defiantly plain, give me the broth and let me dress it up myself with salt, saeujeot or whatever else I want.

Han Yang has already made those decisions for you. The galbitang broth was noticeably sweet and salty and eventually it became a little much for me. That’s preference as much as criticism, plenty of people will probably love it exactly as it arrives. I just wanted the volume turned down.

The banchan was similarly mixed but mostly good. The napa kimchi was solid and nicely balanced. The kkakdugi was particularly good. The mustard greens, however, were ferociously sour. I like fermented food. These had me physically wincing.

The dipping sauce for the galbi was excellent, though and I kept going back to it. Rice was average and a little dry. It did its job.

Service was good and the whole experience was easy. The room itself has some age on it, tables are fairly close together and depending on where you’re seated you may find yourself with a commanding view of the bathroom door. Nobody has ever requested the chef’s table at the restroom, but here we are.

Somehow I don’t particularly mind any of it. Han Yang feels like a restaurant that knows what it is. It isn’t polished into anonymity. People are here eating giant bowls of soup, mixing rice in scorching stone pots and getting on with their lives. And when a restaurant can put something as good as that gondre bibimbap in front of me, I can forgive a dry bowl of rice and a bathroom with excellent sightlines.

Absolutely coming back. And next time, I’m getting that bibimbap again.“

“Delicious pay-per-pound hot pot at The Source! The service was really good. Our waitress kept checking up on us and our kids. The restaurant is spacious and very clean. They have one area where you grab your bowl and load up with all the ingredients you'd like. They even have a scale for you to check the weight in case you are trying not to order too much. They basically have everything you would want at a pay-per-pound hot pot. Actually they have items I had never seen before. I didn't take a picture to type down the name but they were fun ingredients that even my kids loved.

Their sauce selection is decent too. The only thing they didn't have here was sacha sauce but this is a Korean style restaurant. I can't expect them to have it lol. Overall, definitely would come back the next time I'm at the Source!“

“A colleague recommended Paul's to me 20 years ago and now my family eats here each time we're in SoCal. The garden burger is one of the best I've had, the onion rings are crispy and my son calls the cheeseburger S Tier. The prices have also held up very reasonably over time. “Sushi Mura has the best ramen in Buena Park. This was my first time here. I've been to most ramen places in Buena Park, and didn't realize Sushi Mura is a hidden gem Sushi and ramen place near me.

The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The menu had more options than I'll ever be able try. I had the special sake and appetiser deal for $30 and was not disappointed.

Sushi Mura has the best Spicy Tonkatsu in Buena Park, hands down. I'm a little picky and asked for not sprouts or mushrooms, and was not disappointed.“

What really surprised me though was the fried chicken — I honestly didn’t expect much, but it turned out to be just as good (if not better!). Super crispy, flavorful, and seriously addictive.

“Cozy Japanese place perfect to grab lunch at! We got a rice ball, takoyaki, and the pork katsu sandwich. All the food came out very promptly and was yummy.

The interior is very cute! There are cute painted signs with food items. We also got some cute free stickers! Seating is limited to ~10 people due to the small size of the place so if it's busy, doing take-out would definitely be best. Unfortunately, there wasn't strong AC so it was hot inside.

Parking is limited and small but you could find street parking/parking in the neighborhood and walk.“

Plenty of parking up front and the restrooms were clean.“

“Food is amazing. Pork Katsu comes with 5-6 pork slices that are extremely juicy and tender. Rice on the bottom with salad. Amazing side dishes like pickled radish and cucumbers served with creamy soup.

Service is incredible. Very attentive waiter. Fast with drinks and extremely speedy with service. I ask for napkins or more water; I close my eyes for one second and it's literally all there! Kim Tae (Ted) is amazing! Great work ethic displayed and attentiveness.

Their bagels are light yet larger than your typical grocery bagel, but you don't feel so dense by the end of eating one of their sandwiches. “Came here first thing in the morning to redeem our dining pass Breakfast Burritos. They definitely open before 10am— we got there around 9:45am and there was already a long line and plenty of people eating in the covered outdoor seating area. I read somewhere that this is a local passholder favorite and burritos sell out quickly.

The options were “potato” and “chorizo”, which was a little misleading because the chorizo had lots of potatoes too, just less eggs, and it was mildly spicy. The breakfast burritos were huge! Piping hot when they came out. We saved it for lunch and it was still warm two hours later. Shared two burritos between our family of five and it was the perfect supplement to our dining pass lunch. Not a bad way to make the most of the dining pass!

Note: They were pretty strict about requiring every passholder to be present in order for the pass to be used. If you’re swiping for a group, make sure the rest of them are in sight/within earshot and easily called in for verification.“

“We made a reservation for 7pm on a Friday night. Had to wait through a lot of Knott's Scary Farm traffic just to get in the parking lot though. Even though we had a reservation, we still ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes past that time, but we could see that there were open tables available. I figured since it is wide open inside, it'd be pretty loud, but it really wasn't bad. We could still hold a conversation and hear each other well, even though there were music videos playing and lots of people around us. Our servers were really attentive. Our main server had to take a break and was really transparent about handing us off to someone else. We ordered a Bloody Mary (spicy!! but safe), and a strawberry basil margarita (decent). For our meals we got the Bill Graham BBQ Chicken Pizza, which was excellent. It had lots of flavor, the perfect amount of cheese, and wasn't greasy or soggy at all. I'd be hard-pressed to order something different if we ever visit a R&B again! We also got the Blackened Chicken Pasta, which was very good too - just the right amount of spice, good flavors, and the chicken was perfect.
