“We’re huge fans of Porto’s, and visiting the Buena Park location is always a must whenever we’re on the West Coast. While we often order online from them, there’s something extra special about experiencing it in person. No matter how many times we’ve been, it never gets old—it’s always a treat.

It can definitely get busy, with lines often stretching outside the door, but the staff has the process down to a science. Every visit we've made between 10 a.m. and noon, we've been lucky—only about a 5-minute wait before placing our order. They move fast, stay organized, and somehow still manage to be friendly and attentive the entire time.

When dining in, they hand you a pager to place on your table, and everything—drinks and food—gets brought right to you. They even come around to clear the tables when you're done, which makes the experience feel that much more relaxed and enjoyable.

This time around we had the Media Noche sandwich, Lechon platter, and plantain chips, plus a good selection of pastries—cheese rolls, guava and cheese strudels, and our personal favorite, the besitos. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The Media Noche was packed with perfectly balanced, melty goodness, the lechon was tender and well-seasoned, and the plantain chips were crispy and addictive.

To drink, we ordered an iced vanilla oat latte and an iced Americano—both of which paired perfectly with our meal and pastries.

If you’re anywhere near Buena Park, Porto’s is worth the detour. The food is consistently excellent, the service is quick and efficient, and there’s something for everyone on the menu. Whether you’re dining in or taking a pastry box to go, you can’t go wrong. We’re already counting down to our next visit!“

“I visited on Saturday, May 17, 2025, just after 5 PM to buy donuts. I was disappointed that my favorite flavor was sold out, but the young employee’s warm smile and kind service convinced me to buy other donuts. The girl wearing a hat, who looked like a student, greeted every customer with a smile, which was wonderful to see. If the owner reads this, that employee deserves a raise!“

“The bakery was well stocked with an awesome variety of bread from conchas to empanadas, elotes, cake, flan... so much to choose from. They also have drinks, candy, and Mexican chips, champurrado, and many more things. They are super nice and friendly. I live a couple of cities away but will definitely make the trip even though there are a few bakeries near me.“

“Calico Cake Shop did an amazing job on my grandmother's birthday cake. They added candles to the cake that I was unaware of and I am so thankful for them making her feel special during this pandemic. The staff is very polite and friendly! “You have to try the milk cream donut, it is out if this world. The donut it self is a bit basic but the milk cream makes up for it. We tried the creme brulee and it wasnt tge best. If u have to choose one i would recommend sticking to the milk cream. Located in the third floor in the food court.“

“Cocohodo holds a special place as one of our family's favorite snack spots. Today, we swung by to pick up a Cocohodo box to gift to a friend. Opting for a small box with 36 pieces for the gift and a smaller bag of 10 pieces for ourselves, we patiently waited about 15 minutes for our warm, freshly cooked Cocohodo. The place was bustling with activity as we waited, and we also noticed they offer a variety of beverages for purchase.

“I love this bakery and have since I was a kid. Their baked items are consistently delicious although just like everything else their prices have gone up. With that being said I still love their cupcakes,danishes,cookies and pies. An all american bakery that delivers on taste.“

“Excellent Korean bakery, very nice lady that runs it. They have low stock on most of the items I buy, and the opening and closing times are a mystery. However, the quality, pricing, and taste of the items is much better than the Cake House next door.“

Some of the cakes are becoming a little bit pricey, but it’s not too sweet or too fattening and very soft and fluffy. They have a large variety of coffee drinks and other drinks.
