“This restaurant is like a pearl in a clam in HP neighborhood. They serve delicious Salvadoran food. The restaurant can sit about five tables. It's clean and well lighted. There are two colorful wall paintings depicting life of Salvadorans. The cashier has a cheerful voice which enlightens your day. She's very friendly and knowledgeable.“

“My friends and I came to place because they are known for their pupusas to celebrate one of their birthday. So they ordered the different pupusas and I got the ribeye with shrimp for my food. They loved the pupusas and it's a big portion. The ribeye steak and shrimp was delicious especially the pico de gallo that came with it. The customer service was amazing and there a private lot in the back for parking.“

“Good spot for a quick bit or a full meal. I stop like ritual every morning for my pan con frijoles/huevos/creso duro, can't go wrong. The food is delicious and the girls are nice, not mean like other places I've gone. I think it is a spot that is underrated, been in a corner, no parking lot. Feels cozy. Like one of those little spots, you go in El Salvador and get surprised.“

“Salsabor Restaurant is a true hidden gem! The food is bursting with authentic Latin flavor — everything tastes homemade and fresh. I tried the carne guisada and empanadas, and they were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Perfect spot for a flavorful meal that feels like home!“

“Everything is so amazing about this place, im being looking for the right salvadorean restaurant for more then a year when I work in Los Angeles and I was always very disappointed with the food..... Noe and his wife welcome us and make us feel like at home, and the food was spectacular for a very fare price. Eve my Co worker from Ecuador was so pleased with this salvadoran restaurant. Thank you for this place.
Sincerely
Angel“
“Wow! Delicious Pupusas and Sopa de mariscos! I am a very critical Salvadoran when it comes to Pupusas and Salvadoran Food, with over 40 years of experience 😋 This Restaurant has definitely met my expectations. Specially cause the Pupusas are $1.99 Monday Thursday. Loved this place and will be eating here every time I come down to the valley.“

“Pupusas are delicious! I’ve tried many different restaurants in the valley and this one by far takes it. They are off of Foothill Blvd (in front of the Vons) Tuesday-Sunday. Hours vary from 9:30. Very affordable and they have an area where you can sit and eat. Also very clean, gloves are used to prepare your food.“

“This was our second visit--the first roughly a year before. If I lived nearby I would eat there as much as I could. The food is terrific and the price is more than fair for the repast. Every course from appetizer to desert was excellent. If you find yourself in La Veta you shouldn't skip it.“

“So yummy! My parents are Guatemalan and used to take me to a lot of central American restaurants growing up. So glad I came across this restaurant. I ordered the Salvadorean breakfast and it reminded me of what I grew up eating at home. So worth it!P.s. they only take cash!“

“Delicious hot food, refreshing drinks, and fresh papusas. Friendly, fast service. Some entres tend to be very light on salt. A request I have for this place is to please place bilingual signage in front of each food item for easy identification and ordering. Although, they do have a menu on the wall, it's difficult to read for some. Other than that, food is fresh, hot, and delicious!“

“Biggest thing to know is that is cash only. The place is very compact, but homey.
Good food, and well seasoned. Only issue was how expensive it was. Parking is a little tough, but worth it for a little piece of Central America here in LA. Posting the latest menu updates circa 09/2024“

“Very nice staff, fairly quick service, great food. Although I will say, I've had a bit of inconsistency with dishes like the taquitos dorados in how they're prepared. I'm mexican, I'm not sure if it's a central American thing to add radish and cucumber on top of this dish, although the first time they were big slices, so I simply removed them myself but the second time it was finely diced so be aware that dished with a lot of preparation could vary a bit from time to time. That being said, the pupusas as amazing! My favorite is the chicharon con queso, I'm a big guy, and I'm honestly good with one, although I wouldn't mind 3!“

“Just one detail that I want you to be able to correct is the tanning that you can grind the marjoram a little because it has some very long twigs and one of those sticks got stuck in my throat and I couldn't get it out until with the help I took it out with some tweezers. I hope you pay attention to this detail.“

“Perfect Salvadoran experience. If you have gone to Salvadoran restaurants, you know most are modest in the way they look inside, and this is no exception. Several small to medium tables in a single room. Most of the food is prepared when you order it so be prepared for a little wait. We had pupusas and an order of yuca con chicharrón. The revuelta and queso con loroco were perfect as well as the curtido and salsa de tomate. Two pupusas and I was stuffed!
Now, they do offer filling combinations that I had never seen anywhere else (I've been eating pupusas for over 50 years). I decided to try the shrimp pupusa. A couple of bites and I knew that was a mistake and I would never be ordering that again. It's just not a taste I expect in a pupusa, and nothing improved it. This is NOT a deal breaker of going to eat there. Just know that if you select from this extended menu, these are not typical of true Salvadoran pupusas.
No alcohol/alcoholic beverages served. So if you want a beer, get the food as takeout.
This is a definite must try if you are in the area.“
“My first time ordering was over the phone, waited about 20 minutes and they were right about on time. Most restaurants take your order and forget the time. As for the Carne asada burrito and the Bean and cheese Pupusas were delicious. I will definitely be going back. Staff was nice.“

“Ordered a plate of pupusas de queso and it came with a side of chips, salsa, and a spicy shredded salad. The pupusas were served fresh and tore apart in satisfying pieces, the cheesiness is pleasant and overall filling. The chips and salsa were nice to have on the side and the salad was good to have some greens to balance the diet. I also picked up some cookies by the front counter and they had a nice buttery flavor to them, very simple but delightful desserts after the meal. Location is difficult to access by driving as there are very limited parking spots. It may be wise to order ahead and have a friend wait in the car by the side in a space to pick up. Otherwise, it’s in a high traffic area so walking to this place is convenient. The staff are friendly, fast paced, and very kind. It seems most people opt for take-out but there seems to be plenty of dining space inside for anyone choosing to dine in.“
