Happy Chef Reviews
Really solid food
The photos look legit. Rating was high and I'm in the mood for some ABC style chow mein (the thick round noodle).
The chicken chow mein was not bad. Tons of wok air. I liked the fact that it has lots of vegetables. Decent size noodle. Only thing is, it's a bit too salty and has a little bit of bitter after taste. 澀味. I suspect it's the soy sauce? Could be the salt. Or overcooked soy sauce. Otherwise, it's pretty good.
Real chainese food
Happy Chef is a popular Chinese restaurant in the area, known for its large portions and great value. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including Mongolian beef, kung pao chicken, salt and pepper pork ribs, and more. Some diners appreciated the generous servings, especially the kung pao chicken lunch special with fried rice and delicious potstickers that taste like traditional steamed ones. The chicken chow mein was not bad, with lots of wok air and plenty of vegetables, though it was a bit too salty and had a slight bitter aftertaste, likely from the soy sauce. While some meat dishes can be a little dry, the ribs are often a highlight. The restaurant’s decor has a historic feel, with photos of dishes on the wall to help with ordering. Overall, Happy Chef is a good option for Chinese food, offering satisfying meals that leave customers full and happy.
