“Located Inside Hidden Cafe, is a hidden gem! I wasn't sure what to eat tonight and i've seen J&J Island BBQ on Yelp and finally gave it a go. I was a little hesitant to order here at first to be honest. There were no pictures or reviews and the website seemed limited to a few menu items, but honestly if you never try anything new how will you ever know if you'd like it or not. I ordered the Marinated Chicken Plate with a side of rice and mac salad. The chicken was marinated nicely and it was not dry at all. They gave me a side of something unknown. It looked like pita bread at first glance, I ripped a lil piece off and ate it with my chicken and realized it was not pita bread lol. Whatever it was, it was yummy. It tasted like a flatbread pancake, that looks like pita bread, I don't know how to describe it. All I know is it was a yummy sweet treat after my meal! I enjoyed trying something new today and I will definitely be back!!“
“I love this restaurant and I have for years, the service has always been great. You can also get what you want and what sauces you want, you can put as much sauce has you want or you can use the sauce recommendations. It always looked and felt good whenever I walked in the door. The cook also always asks if you want white rice with your food which is nice. If you think that the food isn't good... Grow up“
“Takeout only restaurant. The jambalaya is fantastic and has brought me back multiple times. The sandwiches have amazing flavor but do seem to be very juicy (sometimes the bread is soaked through if you don't immediately eat the sandwich).“
“This is the best Damm BBQ that I have ever had in my life. Reasonable price, Food was served to us in record time. Friendly hard working employees who will go out of their way to make sure you have the best dining experience possible.Parking: Plenty of parking. Handicap parking available also.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.“
“Great BBQ at fair prices. It's a clean place but very small so try to get there before the lunch and dinner rush. The BBQ sauce is balanced and compliments the meats perfectly.Parking: Small parking lot we had no problems but if there's a meal rush I could see it being a bit of an issue.“
“Loved this place, and wish there was one closer to us in North Hollywood. We happened to be in Thousand Oaks so gave it a try. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We had the Hawaiian BBQ plate and it was so good, right down to the rice and the macaroni salad.“
“Just stopped in here today since my dad's friend got us a gift certificate for here. We ordered some jalapeno poppers, ribeye, tri tip, chicken kabobs and chicken cordon bleu. Also we got an all purpose rub to try on the meats. We cannot wait to try all the food! They have an amazing selection of meats: chicken, pork, and beef. The service was quick and friendly.“
“Yummy Hawaiian BBQ serves up delicious and authentic Hawaiian cuisine, featuring flavorful dishes like teriyaki chicken, kalua pork, and loco moco. The menu offers a taste of the islands with its diverse selection of Hawaiian-inspired plates and sides. The restaurant's laid-back atmosphere and friendly service create a welcoming dining experience. While prices are reasonable, the generous portions ensure a satisfying meal. Overall, Yummy Hawaiian BBQ is a top choice for those craving the flavors of Hawaii in a casual setting“
“I loved this place, and the friendly vibe I got from the place. The owner happened to be walking around while doing stuff, and she would say something to each of the customers. Watching from a distance, it all seemed to happen, so naturally, it was a delight to see how many smiles she had created. She was an inspiration to the patrons and employees alike! You might say she lit up the room! She had me try a spicy sauce, which was apparently a spin-off of one of their BBQ sauces. It was delicious as well as the rest of my meal. In my opinion, you must try this place for yourself! It was Fabulous!“
“We found Da Hickory House BBQ by searching Google for BBQ near me. While there are BBQ places in Ventura (No good ones in Ojai where we live), there really isn'ta great one that we've found, so we went here just to check it out and have eaten there twice so far.Food: The food is awesome! Ribs, tri-tip, hot links, beans, etc. BBQ not necessarily smoked BBQ which is fine with us.Price: Now that everything is expensive it's hard to say. We (2 people) pay around $50 for 2 rib plates with 2 hot links added, and cokes. Plenty of food. Both times we got to-go boxes.Atmosphere: Small, dimly lit, quiet, can be cold. It's was empty when we've went except for people there for take out.Service: Good service. A young man took our order and brought out our food. He was very polite and accommodating.I would hate to see this place close so go there and give it a chance!“
“Despite our last-minute decision to eat there, we were able to be seated right away, even though the whole house was packed! This staff is very friendly. Our server was on point and very helpful and the food was absolutely fabulous and I will definitely be back there ASAP.“
