“Best vegan tamales I’ve ever had! The drinks were refreshing, food was delicious and ambiance impeccable. Will definitely be returning here the next time we visit Palm Springs!Vegetarian options: We have the vegan tamale, the vegan cohinitia pibil and vegan enchiladas, they were all good!Dietary restrictions: Plenty of delicious vegan options!Parking: There’s street parking at the back of the restaurant.“
“From the moment we stepped into Tropicale, the air was abuzz with the kind of warm energy that only Palm Springs can offer. The weather was absolutely beautiful, lending itself perfectly to an al fresco dining experience that I’ll cherish for years to come. The service? Flawless. Each staff member we interacted with was not just friendly but genuinely enthusiastic, ensuring our evening was as smooth as the tropical cocktails they served with a flair. Efficiency was the name of the game, and the Tropicale team played it well, attending to our every need with a smile that matched the Palm Springs sun in its brightness. Our seats were a dream come true, positioned ideally to take in the view of the entire patio—a vibrant scene framed by lush palms and twinkling lights that promised a night of magic. And magic it was, as the conversation flowed as freely as the wine, and laughter filled the air, mingling with the soft strains of ambient music. The pièce de résistance? A decadent piece of cheesecake, rich and creamy, brought to the table with a single candle flickering atop it. As I blew out the candle, surrounded by the beauty of the night and the company of a dear friend, I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to ring in my 42nd year.Thank you, Tropicale, for an unforgettable birthday dinner. Here’s to many more!“
“It's the best restaurant in El Paseo. The food is fresh and tasty. Our waitress, the one with a pretty makeup, did a great job on the suggestions. We got Chicken Screws, Empanadas, Ahi, and beet salad. The blond girl did check on our table often. On Saturday night at 6 pm, there wasn't a single empty chair available. This place is doing really well.“
“Interesting to find a shabu shabu place in the middle of the desert. The service was good, but could improve it bit. After we ordered, for the next 29-25 minutes no one stopped by and ask if we needed anything. The food, for the most part, was decent. The quality of the beef itself was slightly disappointing. We ordered both the regular and the premium, and both were just okay. We also had the octopus tapa and the sea bass tapa. They were pretty good, but the eggplant that came with the sea bass was well prepared and its texture was very good. We also had a few hot sake. They were excellent as well“
“Traditional ramen soups, a little more basic than the fashionable ramen places. It's all about the noodles and they have very good hand made noodles. We had the veggie ramen and yuzu ramen. It's a lot of food, no side dishes needed. The staff is very attentive and proud of their restaurant. My 92 year old mother loved it.Dietary restrictions: The menu has 6 or 7 variations of ramen and some other dishes. The vegan was good.“
“Perfect service and tasty food. The filet was excellent. We ate everything. There was great music, and they even brought out a little desert with a sparkler for our anniversary. I booked through OpenTable and checked that option but was not expecting anything. Awesome surprise.“
“Fresh farm to table fare with attentive service and good ol' fashion classics filling the room (and I mean REAL classics as in Sinatra and Armstrong)! Upon arrival the staff effortlessly brings you their gigantic menu which is ever changing to keep up with the seasonal ingredients. We ordered the duck charcuterie board. The fresh baked bread served alongside is reminiscent of North Italia with a nice crunch and brush of olive oil. The duck prosciutto was cut thick, salami tasty and kumquat Jam preserve just the perfect balance. Other tastings included the grilled dates and flatbread. For our entrees, we ordered the tenderloin (cooked to perfection and seriously melts in your mouth) and lamb shank. Both were served with creamy mash potatoes and grilled veggies for a healthy side. Our waiter Alejandra was lovely(!) and so knowledgeable about the offerings for evening. She truly takes pride in her job. Francisco provided top notch service, keeping our glasses full and quickly whisking away our dirty plates. MVP of the evening was Daniel of course and his sous chef who happily labored the evening away to perfect each and every dish from scratch. How do we know? Because we had front row seats to the open kitchen concept and enjoyed every bit of the food magic that unfolded. Love finding these hidden gems where the people that run it truly love what they do. As other reviewers have said, Daniel's isn't just dinner, it's an experience; so, pull up a chair, bring a good friend, enjoy the music and expect to be here for a while. And yes, it's worth it.“
